I stripped down my 2022 Heritage and took it out on a beautiful evening ride tonight. I call it my promenade. It was wonderful. No helmet 14" fat bars S&S slip ons. I do that once in a while down the main drag and some back streets where I grew up and down main street in town. People are sitting at tables outside restaurants in town on the side walks and the speed is 20 mph so everyone can see and hear this beautiful bike. Then back up the main drag and turn around to head for home. Flip on KZbin and I see this playing. I'm still in the same vibe I was in only with a cup of coffee typing this message. Nice.

I don't understand why they removed the dummy gas cap, the symmetry is lost, It's called a Heritage WTF.
@freq18hz6 ай бұрын
To each their own - I’m glad it’s not there. Not a fan of non functional cosmetic items. Of course that is the state of ‘retro’ motorcycles these days, so it’s not possible to get away from it entirely, but a faux gas cap is not my cup of tea.

Not sure. My favorite M8 sound however is the “owwwww” sad whine they make sometimes when shutting off the ignition, as if the bike is sad and deflated that the ride is over. Pretty sure it’s just the fuel pump, but it’s funny.

I can clearly hear the transmission is better then..... 😂
@chrisvantassel88676 ай бұрын
Just sold my 2021 R1250GS because the transmission sucked, clearly it still sucks. That was the last GS I will buy....gotta say my Ducati Desert X is exactly what I was looking for without the agricultural feeling of a GS.
@freq18hz6 ай бұрын
@@chrisvantassel8867I think the transmission is good. If you see me shifting it a bunch, I’m just testing it out and trying the quick shifter, purposefully trying to shift it at awkward spots etc. I think it shifts smooth, but then again so do all the 1250gs I have ridden. I had an 1250rs where the shifting became very rough - I ended up taking it to the dealer and asking them to change fluids under warranty and it got very smooth, you maybe want to try that if you ever own another gs that experienced the issue. Never ridden a desert x, but I’ve had bad luck with Italian bikes and I have never liked Ducati’s low end manners. All I have ridden seem to love to rev up but at lower rpm’s feel like they will shake themselves apart.
@chrisvantassel88676 ай бұрын
@@freq18hz Ya, every GS I have owned has been agricultural in its shifting, I had the 2021 (Bumblebee) and they performed a recall on it. It improved but when I get back on my DX it is like butter. I have pretty well owned them all and while I like the reliability of the Japanese machines they lack fun factor. I pretty well own Harley, KTM and Ducati now. That being said and to your point, bikes like the Street fighter, Panigale etc. I agree 100%, everything is in the top end. That 937 engine though, is incredible. I have the DX and a Hyper SP with that engine and the torque is off the charts but it still revs to 10k. The nice thing about the DX is that you can change mapping and settings like the Enduro mode and it drops it to 75HP but increases torque. Now if we were talking even 10 years ago I would 100% agree with you on Italian bikes but these new Ducati's are as refined as it gets and seem to be proving that they are very reliable. I currently own the DX, Hyper and a Pikes Peak and all have been perfect. I can also say the same about my KTM's...never had one issue. I am sure this new GS is better than the old one but it is going the direction of the middle weight bikes so to compete with the DX or the 890R, Rally will be tough. BMW needs to take some notes on how to add soul to their bikes from KTM and Ducati imho. Hopefully you enjoy this bike and maybe one day I will ride it and change my mind but so far BMW just has not hit the mark for me.

Love the color. I'm going to get one just like yours before summer. I talked to my dealership and they are getting one for me. I'm interested in getting Cobra exhaust for it. Did you have to use a fuel management system with your Cobra pipes? I installed Cobra pipes on my 2020 Honda Shadow Phantom and had to use a Power Commander fuel management system to get it running right. I would appreciate your thoughts about it. Thumbs up for your video. Beautiful bike. Have a great day. Ride safe. Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 🌵🌵👍🏾😊🇵🇷 Like#209
@freq18hz6 ай бұрын
Yes you'll need to tune it. You can do the Harley factor screaming eagle tune, or just download a base map, but without it the bike will run rich or lean at different places in the powerband, and the air fuel ratio will be all screwed up. Tuning or an ECU map is a must, even for slipons.
