Hi thank you for the tutorial I was able to install it using the same part numbers you provided, however, the star stopped working and now it won’t light up at all no matter what I do, fuse is not blown. Could it be because of water damage from washing the car?

so I'm torn! I literally was about to do this for my 2021! (My car is back at the dealership getting something else fixed, right this second). I was gonna pay the $700+ for it. Do you know if I can do this for my 2021 GLE???

Now there is a option for the emblem light up for the 2021 GLC now but sadly if you put the driver assistance package while having the option checked it will tell you or force you to remove it which sucks.

I just completed this job and it works great. One thing though... I noticed on my home security cameras that the light lights up on its own when the car is off. I'm trying to find the pattern but it appears to happen about a half hour after the car has been shut off. It turns on for about 12 seconds, and then turns off. It repeats this pattern EXACTLY every minute for a half hour and then finally stops. Weirdest thing ever. EDIT: Made a video of the issue here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZzXe5SJmbJpi9U

Just not sure how did you run the positive wire under the fuse, did you take out the whole fuse box and than insert the positive wire in the fuse box?

Excellent Video!! I installed my star on a 2018 GLS-550 However I didn't purchase my star emblem from Mercedes I purchased from motorfox.co.uk/ (Better quality stars) I did however used the recommended MB OEM wire harness.. It makes life much easier ....

Great Video. quick question: the way you have it connected, does the star light up at night while the car is in motion? or only when you lock / unlock ?

I ordered the harness and the install was less than 30 minutes with the help of your video!!! Thank you for posting, you saved me a bunch of time trying to figure out which slot to put the fuse holder in. The factory harness is definitely the way to go! I installed it on a 2016 GL450 and it was same process as your 2017.

So I decided to remove both the 5mm drain plug bolt and the 15/16th" drain level viewing plug and then - and only then - could I get all of the compressor oil drained!
