We sang it at the Ria Mar for my grandma’s 90th birthday, she was born in Poland and got sent to concentration camp in Siberia during ww2 and moved to the US in the late 1950s

I am shocked at the ignorance of the comments by Germans who think this is a beautiful German song. It was written by 2 New York Jews for the musical “Cabaret” and is sung in the musical by the Hitler Youth. Tomorrow belongs to the 3rd Reich. Tja, wir hatten 69/70 auf Usedom ein Luftgeschwader mit Piloten sportlicher Ambitionen. Eine Sportgruppe entstand: dazu gehörten sowohl Piloten als auch Soldaten aus der techn. Versorgung (Batallion). Wir waren unter Hptm Scholz eine tolle Truppe, egal welcher Dienstgrad, und wenn wir unterwegs waren, dann meistens hinten auf einem G5... und wir sangen neben anderen Liedern ganau dieses Lied. War 'ne schöne Zeit. Episode: Für den militär. Mehrkampf haben wir natürlich auch Pistolenschießen trainiert. Damals war die Makarow die Standardwaffe. Hptm Scholz sagte: Also, ich hab jetzt hier ein Paket von Tausend Schuss,....wenn da Munition übrigbleibt, ist die Abrechnung komplizierter als wenn ihr alles verballert. Wir haben noch nie so viel Schuss verballert wie dann und Hptm Scholz war zufrieden, weil nichts übrig blieb. Das Schöne in Karlshagen war, wenn du einen Trainigsanzug an hattest, dann konntest du ohne Ausgangskarte aus dem Objekt,....weit konntest du sowieso nicht (na ja, mal ein Bier trinken, mehr nicht). Allerdings im Sommer war da am Strand mehr möglich, im Winter: Einödhausen....
