An "ac" unity without an exhaust is a heater, and a pretty inefficient one at that. Also, an AC unit that only has an exhaust and not a separate intake will cause your room/house to run at negative pressure, pulling air in from the outside, which is also very inefficient. What you want is a proper dual hose unit that draws air in from the outside, uses it to cool the unit, then blows it back outside. You'll see some additional cooling running an evaporative cooler in that setup, but, you'll have to empty the AC unit's evap tank much more often.

One question: This AC unit has a water reservoir that supposedly cools down the hot air it expels. Did you use it in this experiment? Thank you!

So you are putting energy in to a device that has no duct to move the hot air out? Ya that's called a heater...

I have. Very interesting video. Think he has more than 1 video about it.

Clickbait. Your so-called 'AC' was one of the worst form factor you can get. If it has no way of exhausting the heat, then what's the point? Anyway, when thinking about it, it is fairly predictable, over a longer run. The closed room will heat up, because you're feeding electrical energy into it. That energy cannot get out. A decent split-unit AC will really be able to take heat out of the closed room and make it cooler. An added evaporative cooler will only add the same amount of cooling capacity as the AC will lose because the AC will spend energy on condensing that evaporated water and then drain it out.

I agree with all you said and wanted to test it out in a practical application to see what would actually happen in practice. That was the whole point of the video. I am not sure I understand what your definition of clickbait is.
@fluffyblue4006Күн бұрын
@@GoTechGeek The thing you call 'AC' is not suitable for cooling a room and does not deserve the name 'AC', in my book. I was misled, or clickbaited by the title of your video. I was thinking you'd do the investigation with an AC that is actually capable of removing heat from a closed room.
@GoTechGeekКүн бұрын
@@fluffyblue4006 The whole point of the video was to see what would happen if I did NOT remove the head. That is why I specifically used the AC unit I did. I wanted to see how much the room would actually heat up if everything was enclosed and I did not remove the heat.

Be aware that Sharpies are not 'permanent.' Over 15 to 20 years of light/air exposure even black Sharpie ink fades to a faint tan color. Inside a book that will mostly be closed probably okay, but even in a closet with almost no light, Sharpie will fade away. The basic issue is they use an aniline dye which is 'fugitive,' meaning not archival. Sharpie and other brand Paint Markers are archival, but they're more difficult to use. If you're making art, either scan it or use something different or accept that it won't last. For permanence look for archival and pigmented. Noodler's Bulletproof Inks seem to be archival. I've yet to see any fading in the 20 years or so I've used them. Also Laser printers because they use carbon are permanent. (And keep in mind the fugitive problem with early inkjet prints was not so much the ink, which was aniline, but the paper. On the first Epson Photo Printer (I had Serial number 5xx) I printed on 'fixed' Arches watercolor paper, very high quality, and framed the prints under OP1 UV protective plex. After 30 years I can't see any change. Some have been hanging on my wall for all this time.
