Matt, the deck and railing system look awesome, the cable system is a nice touch, adds some class and keeps the view open as well, nice install, thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.

I was thinking why didn't u cut all the wire for the short side in one go but knowing the castle there will be a inch difference from top to bottom 😆 🤣 😂 😹

Everyone has a misconception about the spacing on the cable and I saw some say 4” apart but that only applies to interior rake rails but all balcony interior and exterior must meet national code requirements regardless of where you live and that spacing requirement is 3” apart !

My heart sank as I watched this, it will need to be redone as it is not to code you will need to have 8 lines for that to be legal to rent and it is on KZbin the haters will be all over this. It is to loose as well.

The spacing needs to be less than 4”, so a baby’s head can’t fit through.

I think the cable is a little small for my liking. I think it would look better with a thicker cable. But...that would cost more money. 🤷‍♀ "Is it perfect? No. But it's the castle. It's as close to perfect as it's gonna get." So, it's Castle Perfect, not Dirt Perfect! 🤣🤣

You could have drilled the corner at a 45 degree and save eyes a d would have only needed pensioners at on end. I would have counter bored the post and used the threaded eye to tension

Matt, I can say I have 0 experience doing a railing like this. I am worried about the top line! Here, our "banisters can't be bigger than 4" so a kid can't get their head stuck. On yours, it looks big space at the top a kid could stick their head through and choke themselves out? I think you need 1 more cable between your top cable and the handrail. I do have a dog run that's close to 100 ft. I always bought longer eye bolts for each end and tensioners for each end. I start with the tensioner as open as they will go and the eye bolts as loose as they can be. I pull this ridiculous strong clothes line and I don't have a crimper for them, just use the "mini cable clamps with the 2 little nuts on them. I get it as tight as I can by pulling it through and clamping. Then, I tighten the eye bolts until the line is tight, double nut it and wait for it to stretch out. Go back and get what I can from the eye bolts, then I can still take slack out with the adjusters. A few turns a year without taking anything apart and the dog lead stays nice and tight so he can run around and his lead slides on that wire like butter.

Is the cable railing safe for children. That was my concern so I used aluminum balustrade (pickets). Also the small opening at the end with the tensioners may be a risk for young children. What are your thoughts.

well may look good But will not pass City or State or Insurance code To do so between the two cable a 4 Sphere can not fit between the cable and this can be check at the center of each span the first cable can not be more than 4 inch off the deck Hand rail will be between 34 n 38 inch off the deck The space between post is set by City or State Codes when you don't have A City Code Then must look at the State Code I been building Decks for over 35 years Once again i say look Nice But beware the Insurance Company maybe be picky all Check with City Or County or State Code when doing thing I have watch about all your Videos and N there Nice Just be safe have question reach out to Google ask it for what the codes are in the end do it right and will look Great and People will tell you look Great have Question Reach out to me Thanks
