Not gonna lie, this song has ironically given me a lot of respect for religion. At the time I didn't know that religion and things like the Bible have a much deeper meaning that can be interpreted in different ways. I used to be that person that hated religion, thinking it's the root cause of most issues in our world but that isn't true. It's because people purposely twisted certain meanings in a way to make people act differently. I'm not religious myself, but I personally believe that it's a very beautiful thing. Real or not, it has very much impacted our world in many positive ways.

Abraham=The Capitol; Isaac=The Tributes, representing the Districts; The Angel=President Snow; The Daughter=Katniss. Abraham took Isaac's hand And led him to the lonesome hill While his daughter hid and watched She dare not breathe; she was so still (Katniss and the people in all the Districts must silently watch the Capitol murder their children in the Hunger Games. To speak out is to risk even worse punishments.) Just as an angel cried for the slaughter Abraham’s daughter raised her voice (In Biblical times, a woman wasn't even allowed to SPEAK, much less raise her voice. This is an act of rebellion in itself.) Then the angel asked her what her name was She said, "I have none." Then he asked, "How can this be?" "My father never gave me one." (The people in the districts are considered subhuman by the Capitol and are of no account other than as slaves. They are not even worth a name.) And when he saw her raised for the slaughter Abraham’s daughter raised her bow (her=Rue. When Rue dies in her arms, Katniss intimately experiences the depth of the Capitol's evil. She is compelled to "raise her bow" and make a statement by decorating Rue with flowers and saluting her to the cameras, thus demonstrating to everyone in the Districts how wrong it is. This is a direct challenge to the Capitol and the beginning of the uprisings.) "How darest you, child, defy your father?" "You better let young Isaac go." (The last line is not Snow OR Katniss speaking; it is BOTH of them addressing each other at the same time. Snow says you'd better not interfere with our system, the games, or our ability to kill the Tributes and dominate the Districts. Katniss says the Capitol's system is unjust and the sacrifice of the Tributes must stop. Neither one will give an inch. It is a mutual declaration of war.)

Netflix finally got the movies on their service but it’s only for a month smh. At least here in the US. Ik that’s plenty of time to watch all the movies. But still I would’ve liked for Netflix to keep the movies on their service so I could watch them whenever I want. I love these movies. They’re my top 5 move series of all time. For anyone interested, my top 5 movie series are 5. Iron Mam 4. Captain America 3. John Wick 2. The hunger games 1. Harry Potter

Even thought the lyrics appear to have no connection to the hunger games, this song really captures the greater importance of what Peeta and Katniss did, how theyve set something irreversible in motion and how they have changed the corse of history with a simple act. I think the melody represents how sad, dangerous but overall hopeful the future will be. Theyll get their ending but not without pain, death and scars, mental and physical, whichll never leave. Anyway im gonna go now, the perks and disadvantages of being someone who looks too much into things :')

The song is very much in tune with the story. Abraham wants to sacrifice Isaac and his act is being presided over by an angel (higher being). However Abraham's daughter a hidden figure, nameless and of no importance or consequence defies his father and the angel- She raises her bow and demands for Isaac to be released. That is basically the Katniss and Peeta dynamic of the three books.
