One of the rules of Hollywood, except in action movies, no good guy or innocent person can be saved by a gun. No matter who has guns in a scene, only villains may prosper. Instead, when guns wielded by good guys enter the scene, they should only cause problems, tension, and complicate what is going on. It is meant to be a subtle way to convince the audience that guns shouldn't exist at all but even still you don't have any business having one. After all, even the cops have problems when the guns come out. Hollywood sucks and lives in a fantasy world.

Did they even have the guy's address? Or his phone number?

I'm Singin’ In The Rain, Just Singin’ In The Rain. What a glorious felling I'm happy again, I'm laughing at clouds So dark up above, The sun's in my heart And I'm ready for love. Let the stormy clouds chase Ev’ry one from the place, Come on with the rain, I've a smile on my face. I'll walk down the lane With a happy refrain, And singin’ just Singin’ In The Rain. The funky background is based on Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee...a Christian Hymn. Interesting choice.

Does anybody know other films or works (might be books) that deals with this kind of theme? Chance, coincidences, how things are uncannily connected, etc. Something in the line of the Red Notebook from Paul Auster. I find this fascinating and these scenes here are very clever on it.

Parents are the worst. My wife is a survivor, and I don't quite know how to tell her, we may be through with the past but the past ain't through with us. Especially now her abuser is about to get parole. I can't stop weeping over that sentiment.

Deep Throat was the first major pornographic film. Although being banned in many places, people still viewed it, including music, sports, and movie celebrities. It took an estimated $600 million in sales(according to other sources). As technology developed, and by today's standards, it would be an estimated $3.8 billion.

The best part of this ending is the lack of resolution for Jimmy Gator. Everyone else's loose ends are tied up, but not his. What does this mean? I suppose Anderson may have figured that death by his own hand was too good for Jimmy-- that he deserved another two months or so to think about the horrible things he did to his daughter, to Stanley, to Donnie, to the other "kids." That after he reached a state of genuine contrition the terminal cancer should be allowed to run its course. Or: maybe death by television-- which he inadvertently shot after the frog collided with him, and which in turn started a fire-- was more symbolically appropriate. I.e., that the children under his care had suffered a sort of spiritual death by television, so maybe he deserved a literal death by television?
