Why in blazes would you place the rod directly on the fresh bore and slide it down is beyond me. It should never touch it. Also, assembly lube is much better on new bearings than your oil and stp concoction.

If you've had a previous oiled up engine in before,makes sure the aftercooler is clean inside.

Just subscribed to your channel. very cool. I have a question. With new turbo installed. Oil is leaking out from turbine outlet side. I run the engine same as you did. With radiator installed. Appreciate any help.

There should be no oil in the compressor side at all,this would be a turbo issue. Is oil coming out of the exhaust side. If so, are you sure it's not coming out of the engine. Have the piston kits been changed on the engine also? If so,the engine will need load and minimal idling!

@James Gaughan Thanks for the quick reply. I'm using ipd product. Yes oil is coming out from the exhaust side of the turbo. I'm not worried on the exhaust side oil leak. It will disappear onces the engine is installed back in the excavator. 336d. Just not happy with oil leaking from turbine. Waiting for genuine turbo. Very expensive. Will comeback to you with the outcome. Thanks.

Install genuine turbo today. Test run engine almost two hours. No oil coming out from turbine outlet side. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
