I remember accidentally beating up all the guards cuz i was on a rampage, and the game was like, yup you're free to go

I mean wtf are we supposed to do here... i tried to beat it as intended, gave up and used your cheese method.

The problem with the rebooted version is that it lets you jump side to side which is a completely different game compared to the original. In the original you can only jump up and down. So if you wanted to jump to one tile to the right on the same level, then you would have to jump up right followed by down right. TLDR: Play the original version and not rebooted.
