Thank you for creating this video. What I really like about it is the fact it provides an information on what happens with the director/APs when the upgrade button is hit. The manufacturer's documentation rarely provides this kind of information which really annoys me.

Yes network and internet access can be restricted using access control rules. These control rules can be created under Services & Profiles > Access Control. Once these rules are created they can be assigned on the SSID via Advanced Options > Access Control Please let us know if you have any further questions on this :)

Does the IP of Gateway and Ruckus Controller need to forward the port on Router or not? if yes, which port will forward for use TCP or UDP?

I have tried to change the port from my switch to the ZD1106, it is older I know, to have the ZD hand out IP Addresses with .20.xxx. I have the port set up and it seems to find it, I can log into it, but it does not hand out IP's, nor do the access points seem to connect and show any type of connectivity. When setting up I have tried to change the Access VLAN in the system config, left it at 1, the .20.xxx is a VLAN20 on our layer 3 switch. I have it tagged and also on the switch I was going to try to move it to. Nothing works , no matter what I have tried. I always have to rest to factory and restore the backup. Am I missing something somewhere to allow it to hand out .20.xxx IP's. I have no other wifi on the subnet. I am at a loss here on how to change it over. Thanks for any help at all!!!

Hello, the IP address range being used must be in the same IP address range and VLAN as the zone director as it can only support a single subnet. Thank you for the comment, you will need to set up port forwarding on your router so that you can access the management page. Alternatively Unleashed Multi-Site Manager can also manage ZoneDirectors remotely. I hope this helps. :)

so I have fibre internet running to a building directly to a switch, but no WIFI in the building at all. from my understanding if I fitted a ruckus T750 unleashed, plugged it into my switch and when threw the unleashed set up, it will use my BT network not the ruckus cloud and ill therefore gain WIFI in the building. is it really that simple with this product.

Ruckus cloud is simply a management platform and all traffic is sent locally to the local LAN. Unleashed is a very simple product and will work exactly as you expect :) I hope this helps?

When I'm near APE and turn on WLAN on my phone, it connects with Frequency 5 GHz. If I move away it's switch to 2.4 GHz and that okay. But if I return to the same position my WLAN on my phone never switching again to 5 GHz, to switch it again I need to turn off and turn on WLAN on my phone. Can someone say what settings I need to change to make devices switch back to 5GHz if they have a good connection with APE?

Hiya, You can enable band steering in the WLAN settings to try and influence the client device to rejoin on the 5 GHz band. However, it is up to the client device to determine which band it joins, we can only influence the decision with these settings, there is no "forcing" as such. This guide is a starting point to build upon, we always suggest a full site survey post-deployment to optimize the wireless deployment. Hope this helps. What about mac randomization? Also the method with an access code uses an open ssid, what about encryption?

Thank you for your questions. With Access Codes Encryption, it can be implemented by using WPA2 if required. Once a device joins a wireless SSID the randomized MAC address used for that SSID doesn't change. Nomadix doesn't track MAC addresses for authentication, instead it uses the access code or WPA2 key if using the MDU portal to identify a user. I hope this helps? Perfect! Will have to upgrade the clusters of our company the next weekend. Got a question tho... We have two clusters for redundancy, do I have to start upgrading the Leader first and then the Follower, or it doesn't matter? Cheers!

Hello, From what you are describing I would recommend using Ruckus Unleashed as this allows the Access Point to a Controller whilst being fully featured up to 50 Access Points and 1024 Clients. We have a quick setup guide video kzbin.info/www/bejne/a17JeqOXj91lbMU which details the setup procedure.

You can manage any Ruckus access point on the same network depending on the age of the AP firmware it can go up/down to.

A few days ago we installed another set of RRL. 30 cm antenna, 1gigabit / s duplex spacing 1200F. For some reason it does not work in one gigabit (bandwidth in the radio frequency range of 500 MHz), HF, only works in a mode of 500 Mbit / s (in a radio frequency bandwidth range of 250 MHz). It is necessary to switch to the 500 MHz mode and immediately link falls. A distance of 2500 m, on the reception levels -45-47 dBm, the signal / noise ratio of 27-28 dB. Tried RRL testing in the lab, the link 11 m - capacity of 500 Mbit / s with a width range of 250 MHz, is switched to the band 500 MHz and Link falls immediately. Why?
