I'm amazed that this koryu ryuha has become so open. That's a very dramatic change from the usual tradition of being very selective. But not only them, lately a lot of other koryu ryuha have become more open to foreigners as well. Well it's a way to guarantee that the ryuha would not die...

Are all tasuki ties colored white?
@taisharyuofficial3839 Жыл бұрын
A white tasuki is very formal. But other colors are also used.

Absolutely beautiful. Seeing all the koryus together witnessing each others techniques must really be surreal. As someone who practices Ryushin Shouchi Ryu I hope to one day see this in Japan.

Sweet :) Such precision and skill. We don't get cool displays like this in Wales, I'm glad youtube is a thing so I get to see the goodness :3

very informative. I previously thought the offering of salt, rice and salt was being done and being replaced on a daily basis. Thanks for the video, now I know
@nhansen1978 ай бұрын
Both the Tsubaki Shrine and the Shusse Inari shrine recommend removing everything at the end of the day. The orientation of rice and sake depend on the shrine with many shrines putting the rice forward of the Saki. To the best of my knowledge, offerings should be fresh with no mould.

Hello, beautiful video :) I have a question, what does it mean in practice that the replaced items are dedicated to the east, west, south, north and center? I mean how do you dedicate them?
@dvoyager58792 жыл бұрын
the replaced items (rice and salt) are consumed by the family.

Nice. I practice Iai but sometimes we also practice with bokken. I certainly would like to have more contact training.
@mikaelbauer38182 жыл бұрын
I practice Omori Iai, but am fortunate to have access to other ryu as well. I like seeing similarities between what you do and Tamiya-ryu, for example. Or even aspects of the more modern Toyama. Btw, I teach Japanese history and Buddhism at university level and lived in Japan for several years. Great work.

This is flashy but perhaps less spectacular and more basic moves would be better for short videos. How to do that noto for example, or just a basic kiriotoshi.

Where do you guys get your shinais from? They perform well.
@taisharyuofficial38392 жыл бұрын
They are called fukuroshinai. We buy them from a Japanese craftsman, but I think he doesn't ship oberseas. However, several martial arts shops also sell them. For example www.seidoshop.com. The leather bag is really important. But the bamboo inside will break with frequent training and can be replaced by yourself.

Very interesting, to let go of the left hand and use the left leg to brace against the tsuka. Also the use of angles to block the mid section strike/cut.

This technique is called yōsha, in which you block three horizontal attacks. The second one is blocked with the handle of your sword.
