Closed deck block, forged pistons and rods, Owen hyibrid turbo (currently useless as the map is very conservative); 250 hp X 345 Nm. Dekat. Wavetrac diff. Bilstein MDS coilovers detuned to 1 way. Front 330 discs with Brembo 4p calipers. 215/40-17 AR-1 or 215/45 Direzza. Currently running about -2.5° camber front and -1.5° rear; toe +5’ per wheel front +10’ rear.

This sounds soooo much like my R56....mine is quoted as having a stage 3 map at 275 ponies, but I think its a standard turbo and it boosts to just 19 psi so I believe its more like 240 ponies. Must get it on the track this year given I have just done an engine rebuild to stop the dreaded oil burn!!

By that time the engine had about 270-280 hp, forged internals on hybrid turbo. Bilstein one way “challenge” coilovers. Wavetrac diff. Nankangs AR-1 225/40. After that video the engine and cooling have been completely rebuilt and uprgaded with stronger and bigger hardware. Now it has some less power (250 hp) but it should be able to be driven for many laps without overheating and hopefully last forever 🤘🏼… looking forward to test on the Nordschleife next spring or summer

@@matoncars6713 That's less than I thought, the handling looks perfect, but it's hard to say without feeling it. You've created an amazing machine. This is with no bracing as well? Poly bushes? Etc. I want you to have a better time than a toyota yaris gr. because they advertise it as the fastest hot hatch of all time but I don't think it's faster than the mini if they have the same power. I wait your video 😉
@matoncars6713 Жыл бұрын
With the same power the two cars might be “similar” thanks to the lightness of the Mini but the Yaris has the huge advantage of traction (transmission and huge tyres fittable up to 265 mm 😳)… plus an easily tunable engine (many guys have 320 hp since one or two years without issues). With the setup of my video I could have been faster by 3-4 sec with just better tyres than Nankang I think (always 215). We’ll see…

@@pedrogoncalves3660 Both are equally tunable and affordable if they’re fresh, well driven and often serviced (I suggest 7-8000 km oil changes). Nicely done! I remember meeting you on track in the AM on the 18th when it was still wet and it was clearly being driven well. Only did the 18th but also disappointed with the level of traffic and noobs without mirrors in cars that were way too quick for them to be driving. RSR clearly making a ton of money renting all their cars out but "premium" lapping for advanced drivers it is not.

@@matoncars6713 If it's wet like that run Yokohama A052. They exist in OEM GT4 size. Insane grip in the wet, probably 10-15s on a long track like Spa in slippery conditions. 1-2s quicker still when dry but at the cost of wear. There's a lap somewhere in my youtube at Spa in the wet with them (and dry)

Mat, you just brought me hope. I bought my spyder in 2020 with the goal to do sub 7:30 BTG. And i started to thinking that it's almost impossible. Swap to gt3 or gt4 rs was occasionally in my mind. Can you please provide some info about your car tyres, alignment, brakes? It will help me a lot.
@matoncars67132 жыл бұрын
Hi! The car is stock except MR alignment kit for OEM suspensions to get some negative camber more and better tyre wear. 50% worn Cup2 tyres. PCCB brakes with stock pads, lines and fluid. Below 7.30 is easy with some experience. I think the best BTG in ideal conditions with Trofeo tyres could be 7.10 with a good no pro driver. If PDK even less.
