got my first bike at 18 in 1991 , was a 250 RGV 2 Stroke then one year later got a GSXR 1100 91. New bikes are just filled with electronics compared to the old bikes.Still have my RGV and a K6 GSXR 1000 for every day use since 2007 , never left suzuki models. Fun fact i have a friend who had bought the real R7 Yamaha YZF-R7 0W02 made in 99 and still has it , you don't see them often anywhere these days , ride safe , cheers from france.

Should’ve bought the Yamaha ones. The ones you have installed are poor quality and too hard. FRAME sliders ARE NOT supposed to protect plastic. They are to protect the FRAME from the initial impact. 35 bucks………quality cost money in the motorcycle world….at least 95% of the time.

I would advise at least putting blue loctit on the frame slider bolts. Get yourself a set of allen sockets also. A lot better then using allen keys.

@7:50 guys trippin, every cable throttle on earth has a "free play" spec in the manual, yours looks perfect. his cbr was probably just newer tech, with "ride-by-wire" which dont need freeplay, since the throttle is electronic. yours is by no way wrong, for even more reassurance go look in the fz07, r7, xsr700, tenere 700 manauls, throttle free play is like 5-6mm🤙

It was good to see you only do 1 side at a time. It would suck taking both bolts out and having your engine drop a little bit and have to fuck around and try to get the holes lined up again. If you are going to do a majority of the work yourself, a good investment would be a torque wrench.

That R7 really looks good. I'm 5'4" and I'm tippy-toeing just about any sportbike. I wear a pair of Timberland boots when I ride and the thick sole helps me get a little better footing than sneakers. I have never lowered one of my bikes, but I have ridden a GSXR600, and a GSXR1000 that were lowered, plus a Hayabusa that was lowered and stretched. The lowering didn't seem to have any negative effects on handling. Being able to flat foot it or at least get most of your foot on the ground will definitely make it easier to move around and feel more secure on it. I subscribed to your channel and I wish you success with your riding and your channel. Be safe.

Congrats on the R7. I’ve been riding for 19 years and just got one myself. Makes me laugh when people try to compare it to the R6 or say should have gotten a ZX6R. Nope, the R7 delivers a great street riding experience and relatively forgiving for new riders and just flat out fun. It’s not about hp and speed, it’s about fun and learning to continuously develop skills. Subscribed, excited for your journey.
