how did you expand the word gang under floor. Youre using so many shortcuts so novice like me cant keep up with what you clicked to be able to expand it. When i click selection tool it can highlight it and if i double click it changes to text tool. Cant seem to get that box around it to expand it sorry im new.

I'm a massive Photoshop noob with ADHD so I took notes for those struggling to follow along: 1. Write your text. 2. Adjust the spacing between letters. (if applicable) 3. Center your text. 4. Right-click your text layer and duplicate it. 5. Hide your original layer. 6. Right-click your duplicate and convert it to a smart object. 7. Add Gaussian Blur: Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur 8a. With your object selected, press Threshold in the Adjustments tab. 8b. Adjust it to your liking. The video used level 136. 9a. Select your object and add Ripple: Filter > Distort > Ripple 9b. Adjust it to your liking. The video used an amount of 80. 10. Find a scratch texture and save it as a PSD file in a new tab. 11a. Go back to your main file and perform displacement: Filter > Distort > Displace 11b. Select your scratch PSD file. 12a. Next, go to Select > Color Range. 12b. Select the black area of your text. The video used fuzziness 40. 13. Group and hide all layers except the background. 14. Add a new layer and fill the dotted area: Layer > Fill > Black 15a. Find a paper texture and drag it into your project from another Photoshop tab. 15b. This texture doesn't need to be saved as a PSD. 16. Place the texture underneath the text and position it to your liking. 17. With the texture selected, perform Desaturation: Image > Adjustments > Desaturate 18. Duplicate the paper texture and place it over the text layer. 19a. Ensure the copy of your paper texture is selected. 19b. Press the "Normal" drop-down right above your layers and select "Screen", instead. 20. Nice! Now, with the copy still selected, find levels in the Adjustments tab. 21. Adjust to your liking. 22. Finally, subscribe to Paradigm Designs for helping us out!

hi at 2:56 how did you fill the new layer? i kept on clicking the layer symbol however it doesn't fill the selection. thanks!

To fill an entire layer, select the layer in the Layers panel. Choose Edit > Fill to fill the selection

I used Casanova Serif then I used skew to make it slant like an italic letter :)
