They're the closest relatives to pigs. They're not pigs in the same way big cats aren't cats
@WildNatureAnimal25 күн бұрын
Collared peccaries are close relatives of pigs but belong to a different family (Tayassuidae vs. Suidae). Unlike big cats and house cats, they're not in the same family.

Your description is incorrect, the brant goose is the sole extant species in the Branta genus, the red-breasted goose is now thought to belong to the genus Rufibrenta.
@WildNatureAnimalАй бұрын
Thank you for your comment! You’re right that the classification of the red-breasted goose (formerly Branta ruficollis) has been reconsidered by some taxonomists and placed in a separate genus, Rufibrenta. However, the consensus is still evolving, and some classifications continue to place the red-breasted goose within Branta. I’ll make sure to update the information to reflect these developments accurately. Thanks for pointing this out!

@, the Brant Goose (Branta bernicla) is now considered the only extant species of the Branta genus and the most basal extant species of the Anserini tribe, whereas the Nene (Nesochen sandvicensis) is more closely related to the Swan Goose (Cygnopsis cygnoides (cladistically including the Oriental Goose (Cygnopsis cygnoides domesticus))), the Red-Breasted Goose (Rufibrenta ruficollis) and Barnacle Goose (Berniculus leucopsis) are both more closely related to the Greylag Goose (Anser anser (cladistically including the Occidental Goose (Anser anser domesticus))) and Pink-Footed Goose (Anser brachyrhynchus), and the Cackling Goose (Melanoleucocephalus hutchinsii) and Canada Goose (Melanoleucocephalus canadensis) are both more closely related to the Taiga Bean Goose (Fabophagus fabilis), the Tundra Bean Goose (Fabophagus serrirostris), the Lesser White-Fronted Goose (Sarriophagus erythropus), the Greater White-Fronted Goose (Sarriophagus albifrons), the Bar-Headed Goose (Chen indicus), the Emperor Goose (Chen canagicus), the Ross's Goose (Chen rossii), and the Snow Goose (Chen caerulescens).

Excellent video and information, but why do you keep showing a wallaby like it is part of the Red Kangaroo family ?? 🤔
@WildNatureAnimal3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and information. You're right to point out the distinction-wallabies and red kangaroos belong to the same taxonomic family, **Macropodidae**, but they are different species within it. Wallabies are generally smaller and adapted to different habitats than kangaroos. I appreciate the feedback, and I'll be more mindful of representing species correctly in future videos. Thanks again for watching!

It's a common misconception! While peccaries and pigs look similar, they are actually from different families. Peccaries belong to the family Tayassuidae, while pigs are part of the family Suidae. Learning new facts like this is always excit

The Thorold's Deer (Przewalskium albirostris) is a large deer native to Central Asia, it is the only extant species of the genus Przewalskium and its closest living relative is the Père David's Deer (Elaphurus davidianus).

Actually, Collared Peccaries aren't technically pigs. They belong to a different family called Tayassuidae, while true pigs are part of the Suidae family. Despite the similarities in appearance, they have some distinct differences in terms of taxonomy and behavior. It's an interesting distinction in the animal kingdom!

Camels are even-toed hoofed mammals that constitute the family Camelidae, they are known for their long necks, padded feet, and small hooves on each toe, they are native to Africa, Asia, and South America, there are six extant species within four genera and a single extant subfamily, contrary to popular belief, not all camels live in deserts, only the dromedary does, whereas the bactrian camel, guanaco, llama, vicuna, and alpaca all prefer to live in grassier, more mountainous, more forested, and snowier habitats, the bactrian camel is is the largest living camel and is one of many living megafauna of the Himalayas, like the yak, takin, moose, elk, hangul, and thorold's deer Taxonomy: • Family: Camelidae (Camels) •• Subfamily: Camelinae (Modern Camels) ••• Tribe: Lamini (Modern Humpless Camels) •••• Genus: Vicugna (Vicuna and Alpaca) ••••• Species: Vicugna vicugna (Vicuna) ••••• Species: Vicugna pacos (Alpaca) •••• Genus: Lama (Guanaco and Llama) ••••• Species: Lama guanicoe (Guanaco) ••••• Species: Lama glama (Llama) ••• Tribe: Camelini (Humped Camels) •••• Genus: Camelus (Modern One-Humped Camels) ••••• Species: Camelus dromedarius (Dromedary) •••• Genus: Oreocamelus (Two-Humped Camels) ••••• Species: Oreocamelus bactrianus (Bactrian Camel)
