How much clearance is there beneath the strut bar? Looks like there might be more clearance compared to the stock plenum
@tonycrispin21 сағат бұрын
More than a stock plenum with spacer for sure!

Weld through primer is a good idea before welding
@linguini_No1Күн бұрын
Why? He can just go over it with primer, plus weld through primer makes for a worse weld
@gothicpagan.666Күн бұрын
@linguini_No1 Buy the industrial stuff, you can hardly notice the difference. Idea of the weld through is it increasing the oxidation time post weld. Giving a few extra seconds to get a good primer on it.
@tonycrispinКүн бұрын
It’ll all get primered and painted after the fact but good idea!
@350zKillerКүн бұрын
What’s the point of doing this and why not weld the whole thing and or go over that weld with more sealant ?
@paintgrenad9054Күн бұрын
Kinda wondering the same thing
@tonycrispinКүн бұрын
Added strength to the joint where the panels overlap, if it was a street car I’d seam seal it but that’s really just for weatherproof / longevity not needed on a strict track car. As far as welding the entire panel, not needed and too much heat will get into the sheet metal. Remember it’s pretty thin material so it could warp if you run a long continuous weld on it
@350zKillerКүн бұрын
@ ahh gotcha okay thank you! Was confused at first though may do that one day to my Z tho probably will seal it after since I don’t have a garage and I sometimes drive it to work. Though how big of a difference do you notice?
@tonycrispinКүн бұрын
@@350zKiller I wouldn’t bother unless you want a high level competitive car! I haven’t driven it yet it’s in so many pieces 😂 another benefit though is since the cars way stronger it’ll take hits better which we know will happen in drifting
@350zKillerКүн бұрын
@ So you wouldn’t recommend doing this on a intermediate competition car? Because I’ve been drifting for a little while about almost 2 years now and want to start doing drift con and and team tandems and stuff like that.

Your Miata is looking nice 👍 …the green ‘03 Miata I picked up over the summer for $350 cash is a complete rust bucket and 50% Bondo lol! Maybe I’ll put its drivetrain into my KZbin ‘92 Miata 😊 Anyway you got yourself a new sub will be watching your content.

@ yeah im wrapping up a LS swap. I went arc panel with another relay box to use the holley term x to control the rad fans and trigger the fuel pumps so its less to think about. If i was to do it again id prob just go pdu. From link or something and make it way more simple

Can you make a video for the other side to see how you did that with the gas flap and how would you try to get rid of the gap between the 15mm the over fender sticks out and the rear bumper so that the arch looks as clean as possible.
@tonycrispin12 күн бұрын
I cut everything out and the gas caps just floats there lol and my rear bumper is also held on with 2 push pins and 2 zipties, the entire rear of the cars cut out so stuff lines up where I mount it. Wouldn’t work on a factory car. The method I showed is 100% “racecar style” and I wouldn’t recommend it on a street car lol

Hey I’m been wanting to hardwire my fans for a while now, how did you wire it up so that they kick on high with the switch? Very good info in this vid btw
@tonycrispin16 күн бұрын
Easy, just look up factory wiring for the fans and it’ll give you which wire controls power to HIGH and which wire is ground. Put in your relay and switch and you’re set 👍🏼
@NashCustoms17 күн бұрын
THIS WAS AWESOME! Thanks for answering! Your experience makes me nervous because my car is a manual swap. I would like to run the Eccutek from z1 but not sure if I’ll run into issues may just need to find a local tuner. About the alignment, what do you usually run for rear toe in? Does it make big changes between none and positive toe in.
@tonycrispin16 күн бұрын
As long as you have some way to code out the trans faults that pop up on an auto ECU you should be good. Rear toe in depends on track, wheel speed, tire compound, and what I want the car to do. But generally I’ll run anywhere from 0 to 3/8th” anything more that that the z doesn’t have the power to really use in my opinion lol

Also got another question about the fans. how difficult is it to wire them up to a switch?
@NashCustoms17 күн бұрын
Easy! I am thinking about making a video on it. I took a cap off a relay and soldered a wire to it to power the relay and not make any unneeded splices in the harness.
@tonycrispin16 күн бұрын
Yep ^^ what he said lol. Pretty easy! I spliced into my harness but either way lol!

Loved this style of vid. i got more questions now. So when you ran the bolt on angle kit from gktech, the one thats around 200. I think that kit comes with the rack spacers. did you run it without them ? since thats what destroys the rack. i actually just bought the kit but have not installed it yet. thanks 🙏🙏🙏
@tonycrispin16 күн бұрын
Rack spacers are good!! OFFSET rack spacers are bad. Sorry if that didn’t come across in the video. I run the straight line spacers on both sides.
