These things stock are surprisingly not terrible. Yeah, you do need to mess with intonation a bit and the nut, tuners, and bridge are GARBAGE but the pickups don’t sound to bad honestly. I spent $200 on my “limited edition” Olympic White Mustang HH and got a little more value than I expected. I just ordered a brand new Charvel So-Cal S2 (Tele) Pro Mod HH HT CM with a Babicz Full Contact Humbucker Tele “ashtray” bridge to replace Charvels’ HT-6 string-through-body ashtray. Apparently the bridge from the Charvel is standard to fender telecasters with the same style bridge so I don’t have to do any drilling just pop the old bridge off and screw the Babicz in place. The Babicz has the ability to be both string through bridge AND string through body which is cool since the Charvel Tele is string through body. Super excited for that. ANYWAY haha I was thinking about getting HipShot hard tail Hip shot Locking tuners for the mustang and a set of Duncan pups maybe a set with a SH-6 bridge and SH-2 jazz in the neck and get a push pull pot to coil tap. I’ve never heard a coil tapped S.D sh-6 however you think that pup is too hot to bother with coil tapping it? Should probably get better better pots for the mustang too and just get rid of the useless tone pot I don’t use and make it a neck volume pot or something idk.

I got one back when they were a new thing. I’m one of those who didn’t get one with it. It was good for controlled chugging and riffing but not so great for lead , not on the same settings anyway. It’s been in a cupboard for decades, literally.

I love this thing. I used a super overdrive with very low gain as a boost into it. Then I keep the gain rather low on the metal zone as well. That thing has an insane EQ on it. I love the way it sounds.

On my guitar when i lower the action the intonation is thrown of so hard that i cant compensate with the sadlles. So either i have high action or intonation so terrible that my guitar becomes unplayable. The high action doesnt bother me that much but i just want to know what the issue is. Anyone got any idea how to fix that?

I've had my MT-2 since the 80s. Back then I didn't understand it, and used it as a full-on distortion pedal in the front of my 100W Marshall head (Super Lead, 70s). Which sounded pretty rotten, as I was aiming for that illustrious tight Mesa Boogie midscoop tone... Nowadays I can use it better, and dial in a gorgeously crunchy metal tone, which will sit really well in any mix... Nice and quiet too, actually! I usually need an EQ in the FX loop to shape it a bit further, but so far no real need for a noisegate (touch wood) 🤘😜

I bought one of these in charcoal mist. It plays like butter, but the pickups are very dark and lower output. Maxed out on the tone the bridge pickup is still very bassy. My standard Epiphone SG just blows it's so doors off. I'm thinking of going to a set of open humbuckers to elevate the brightness a bit. I love it though.

I used to have a VM Mustang. Pretty solid guitar. The one big gripe I had on it was the bridge piece. Just could never get the strings to not buzz no matter what I did. I have a Fender Vintera II Mustang now, and I don't have nearly the same issues. I hear the CVs don't have as much an issue compared to the VMs in that regard, as well.

Sure the MT-2 is "Hated", by either ignoramus kids that have ADHD with adjusting it and also maybe even by other effects manufacturers since the MT-2 is extremely versatile and can even be adjusted to closely mimic many other pedals too. Watch the amazing episode on "That Pedal Show" for the MT-2 and witness it being shaped to mimic a bunch of well known staples of drive pedals. It takes some patience but the results are astounding.

Remember that these Behringer pedals, although they sound great, are at the price-point they are because the physical components are the lowest quality Behringer can get away with. And that's fine. It's a $25 pedal. It gives you an idea of what the BOSS equivalent sounds like before you plunk down on a genuine BOSS pedal. I'm currently having an issue with an Ultra Chorus. Output B puts out 3/4 of the volume that Output A does when connected in stereo. It also started cutting out in both channels when I'd strum a chord. I got this one from Sweetwater and they have been great by sending me a fresh one at no charge so I can troubleshoot further and hopefully resolve the issue. If the one Sweetwater sends me does the same thing as the bad one I'll order the BOSS Super Chorus and be done with it. I know I'll feel better about spending the $100 on the BOSS know I used the $25 Behringer pedal as I believe it was intended. I.E. Make them as cheap as possible, eat the returns and refunds, and sell a shit ton of them. It's a genius business model. And if I'm not mistaken Uli (Behringer) recycles all of that plastic that comes in as returns. I get the feeling that they do get a lot of returns, but if you use them as a test run before buying a BOSS pedal, and you don't depend on them to gig with you'll be OK. These are not built for lead foot stomping by any means. That's my 2¢ for what it's worth. Keep on rockin'!!!

I played a stratocaster in a band and the main reason that I decked my tremolo is when I broke a string in the middle of a song I could continue playing. With a floating tremolo when you break a string in the middle of a song, its over, every string goes way out of tune and there is no recovery.
