As an American, I can’t help but marvel at this beautifully engineered aircraft. Even though we were bitter enemies at the time, I’m sure US Naval aviators had the utmost respect for the Zero.

For those going to visit nowadays, you are given a tablet with augmented reality features. One can aim the tablet at the Mourning Chapel (formerly MA’s cell) and see how it looked like when she was held there. The tablet can be used throughout the museum and it’s really like traveling back in time. Also, a few steps from the Chapel (basically where the cameraman would have been standing), one can see one of garments she wore in PERFECT condition. You must visit!

Wow, it's incredible to see a piece of history like this still flying today. The Zero was such a powerful symbol during WWII, and seeing it up close is mind-blowing

So glad to see that at least one is still flying. You really don't appreciate a vintage warbird until you see it in flight, hearing the engine noise, smelling the fumes of the expelled fuel, etc. Hopefully they keep as many of the vintage aircraft from both World War I and World War II flying for many years to come so the future generations can also enjoy seeing these incredible machines in flight as they were intended to be seen.

The Zero weak spots were no armor & no self-sealing gas tanks....also, with time, they would need more powerful engines...

This is tournament armor, which is much heavier and different than combat armor. 16th Century tournament armor already created the business model seen in modern day video games: "FREE to Play. PAY to win." The jousting harness became so heavy and reinforced, which only the wealthiest could afford, that it could no longer be knocked off the horse with a lance, which would only shatter to earn points. I have been to several Renaissance Festivals and have learned that the ones that take place over three or four weeks, only go during the first two weeks, or forget it. The first two weeks the knights joust the way it was done centuries ago, where there is a lot of action, men in armor are knocked off their horses, and there are real injuries that require them being carried off on ambulance stretchers full in armor. During the last weeks, the jousts slow down their horses before impact of their lances and it's really lame to watch, as nothing happens. I don't blame them, as they filled their contract obligations earlier, and don't want to risk severe injuries, which I have seen.

At 1:40, sword positioning, I've wondered how that would differ from I.33, sword and buckler of the middle ages. Sword styles had stayed the same, with the Type X blade dominating. Mail armor was the same, shield use had changed though. This fight manual seemed to focus on unarmored sword and buckler. Any ideas?

So, a slap-fight with steel? I don't see that making it into the sagas.

The Norse Saga's were all embellishment and political propaganda. You think only modern politicians and elite invented that? No, it's been around going back to Babylon.

In your combat the sword is the primary weapon. Another website on Viking fighting tactics suggested that the shield was the primary weapon. Was this site incorrect or is it a question of context - i.e. what specific weapon set is being used.

I think if someone had a sword back then, then he was already from the higher strata of society. Spear and even bludgeons would be the weapons for most of the warriors in that age.

very interesting, but i noticed many of the open gaps they find they allow only slashing hit, that logically wouldnt be efective vs chain mail armour, only pierching would be efective most of time. they would be efective if they dont have chain mail armour. i think most of the hits are only neccesary due to safety reasons, you need to avoit injuries, in real combat they would go for vital points to get lethal hits.

I wonder if she was relieved it was over. She lost her crown, her husband, two of her four children before she met her end. Her son was ripped from her arms and manipulated into saying that she molested him, she didn’t know if the same thing was happening to her daughter (she addressed her final letter to her sister in law for that reason). Her love was far away and unable to come back and the vitriol against her was so powerful that she had to flee her bedroom at Versailles before an angry mob stormed in and tore the room apart, killing some of the loyal Swiss guard. And there’s some evidence that she may have been dying of uterine cancer. But she met her end like a queen should; with poise, calmness and dignity.

She was a WONDERFUL woman! She should never have been executed. I think it’s part of France's shameful history that she was - just as all our countries have some shameful incidents. She never did those things she was accused of. She never wanted the Necklace; she refused it twice. Her signature was forged. She never said 'Let them eat cake'. But what a great legacy she left the whole world! Bless her! May she rest in peace. It’s time France recognised her properly, and gave her a proper Service and burial. They should be proud of her.
