Sam and Diane should have gotten married, seasons later Sam wants to be a father and have a baby with Rebecca, he should have married Diane and had a baby with her at the end of season 5, Diane could still leave the show and do guest appearances with their baby.

I believe Diane pulled the same trick on Sam at least twice in the series. The other one I can remember is about a weight machine that gives out fortune cards. Poor Sam. You can never outsmart her.

BTW, I find it odd Sam would bring Diane into the pool room and not his office. Of course, that would've written out the gags with Cliff and the other guy, but--honestly, his conversation with her seems like it should be KINDA private....

Well, in Brandee's defense, she was smart enough to keep up the witty repartee with Sam. Vocabulary, knowledge of double meanings... Still, I'd personally take Diane any day. "I love to laugh!"
