Okay, so I just bought a second Katana 100 MkII head. The first one goes to a Katana 212 cabinet. The second one goes to the 12 " Celestion in my JCM800 until I get another 212 Katana cabinet. I have then both in stereo expand, line our of the master goes to power amp in of the slave using a standard mono audio cable. I have both amps programmed identical; preamp/eq and send/return before the effects. So, all effects are in the loop on both. My pedal board is plugged into the effects loop return of the master and then goes through all the onboard effects and to the line out and power amp. I get audio through both amps, but it's not stereo. I get no stereo effect with any chorus or phaser or any delay or reverb. I get the same exact audio out of both amps at the same time, no slap back or ping pong effect at all. What am I missing here? Both are Mk2 heads programmed identical. What am I missing? Why am I not in stereo?

Use a FRFR with class AB amplifier, not class D. Class AB amplifiers sounds better than class D.

Hey Jason! Great playing man it sounds killer! Just wondering why not just get the 212 cabinet with the head? Do you have to keep them close together like that to work in stereo? (The 1x12's)..Would the 212 sound the same? Forgive me for the dumb question man please as i'm new to all this and i 'm thinking of getting one of these.. Thanks Jason! -Travis

With the stereo expand, does it have to be another Boss Katana to connect the line out to? I'm guessing any amp with the correct input will work, but Boss just wants you to buy a second Katana? Does anyone have any info on this please? This is a major reason I'm considering the Katana Artist MKII to use in stereo with my Marshall DSL40CR combo as the 2nd stereo amp and I really don't want to have to buy 2 Katanas if not needed.
@rutger4131
@rutger4131 Жыл бұрын
You can run the stereo expand output into a power amp and a cabinet if you want. Buying a second cab and power amp is about the price of a (second hand) Katana 50, so it doesn't really matter that much I'd say. Of course, the second Katana will reproduce the patch the same way as the original Katana that you made the patch for. A different cabinet, with different dimensions and speaker, will sound different. This may or may not be your preference.

just saw this. thanks. i rarely gig on electric these days and hated that it was just sitting in my room. i sold it, so someone could use it and enjoy it. i think Katanas are the best tone/$ amps on the market for my particular needs. (i hate pedalboards and like all in one gigging solutions.) cheers

Thanks V! That’s also very quiet on the 1/2 watt power setting. On the 50 watt setting, it instantly sounds fatter and smoother and more punchy. It sounds and feels like an amp, not a processor. It’s got that snap and percussive pop on the attack that processors/modelers just don’t usually quite have, especially when DI to the PA.

Hey, Jason! Does this mission cabinet work with cab sims or ir's?
@jasonwilliamshuck
@jasonwilliamshuck 2 жыл бұрын
It’s just simply a great sounding lightweight 212 cabinet. It is not powered. I only apply the speaker simulators to the XLR outputs which feed the main PA. There is no cabinet simulation on the signal going to the cabinet. I find this to be the most natural sounding live tone on stage. Typically running a cabinet-simulated sound into a real cabinet sounds a bit muffled and dark

Ha ha you’re very kind I really love this amplifier. I’ve always been a fan of dual amp set ups using an ABY pedal and a bunch of cables, which always changes the feel and response of the rig a bit. I’m trying to use a more straightforward approach and use my volume control more to control the amount of gain a dynamic so this is really a perfect solution. Also it only was like 8 pounds so it’s very easy for me to carry to gigs. Anyway cheers and thanks again
