Phil didn’t even record his vox with the band. He did it all from Louisiana and sent the tape to the rest of the guys. These dudes HATED each other at this point. So sad. Such a well oiled machine. And we’ll never know what really happened.

No, they recorded the the great southern trendkill album separately. At this point they recorded together again.

I never understood the dissatisfaction with this album among metal community. This and beyond driven were always my favorite. I like this more than vulgar even. I like the blues feeling of beyond and reinventing more than the punky intensity of vulgar.

Phil looked in rough shape for years. Ive seen interviews more recently. It sounds like, from him, they knew in the mid-90s they knew back surgery needed to progress to give him a chance at a decent life after they do surgery. (There's 1 interview in particular, he really lays it all out, his back problem, mid 90s on). I injured my back in 2004 at age 29. I can totally relate to things Phil says about that, and how you could talk all day, other people won't understand the hell you're in. Not suic***l, bur days you wake up, I don't want to wake up to this knife in my back, in fact I don't want to be here anymore, all day every day like this. Not only that, but, the inability to ofyen get decent sleep because of the injury and pain, i know 19 years on, this has shortened my life considerably, so so long getting not much sleep. I'm glad he finally got surgery that helped

Phil Anselmo said it best at the end of this video. There is not a band alive anywhere that would like to play on stage after Pantera. I saw Pantera this year July 29th 2023 in Noblesville Indiana. The tribute to Dimebag and Vinnie. It was a great show the vocals were crazy and it sounded like Pantera. It was Pantera.
