Saw many games at Cumberland Oval, and had some of our school athletics carnivals there. The two most significant events were the last game against Manly on my 31st birthday, and being in the front row seats when Artie broke his jaw, the sound was unbelievable

They have said a few times that Penrith have a massive fanbase especially since they have started winning and nearly all the game are sold out. I remember when they weren't winning and there were plenty of empty red seats on the telly every time they played a home game. I also base it off experience, crowd figures etc. Take for instance in 2018, Penrith played New Zealand Warriors at Stadium Australia in the elimination final, just over 17,000 turned up. A year earlier, Parramatta played North Queensland in the elimination final at the same venue, yet 44,000 attended.

@RugbyLeagueHistory yeah panthers is a smaller fan base, parra is one of the biggest syd club fan bases. When penrith weren't doing well it was 11-12k at games now it's 18-22k if penrith keep winning though their fan base is going to continue to grow, winning Premierships does that. I just haven't heard any media make out like our fan base is big to huge.

The fact is that North's knocked back the licence for the whole North Coast under Super league because the board was all ex Manly players and that would have killed Manly and Newcastle and Gold Coast that had immediately turned to the ARL and so Murdoch killed them off because he wanted the Super League to succeed and grab all the sponsirship dollars, but then the sponsors ran off to Super Rugby, and AFL and Soccer. Jim Henry the Leagues CEO was a soccer fan and a friend of Len Ainsworth of Aristocrat now AGT, He wanted to cut off the League as it was draining his gambling expansion plans like Ken Arthurson at Manly, but has now been dudded by online sports gambling that Murdoch and others support. There were a lot of people who had no interest in Rugby League loyalties or Fans and the fact is these manipulative grubs have deep pockets and long memories

I think they could potentially. It happened to North Sydney four times in the 1990s albeit that were preliminary finals. More recently, Parramatta had a real problem of getting past the second week in the finals.

I don't think it will ever happen. I think a team in Perth could work if they win the bid for the 18th side but I don't think an Adelaide side would work.

The AFL have always done it better in expansion markets because they are willing to be patient and build.

I don't think I could ever see the Gold Coast becoming a powerhouse club. I'm pretty sure one of their owners said by 2030 they should have won four premierships, two in the men's, two in the women's and they would have the most memberships in the league.

Don't change the club you go for mate. Although Parramatta have been extremely disappointing don't give up on your club . My brother and I support our Panthers for many many years we have seen them in bad times and great times. Don't give up on your club . I am not changing the club I go for, I would be ditching them altogether and just going full-time St Helens. I just don't know if I can continue to support Parramatta if they come last again. I've seen every other team in my lifetime (Except Gold Coast and New Zealand) win a premiership. Of course when I were very young I watched the four premiership wins on VCR when I were about six but it's not the same feeling. I just don't think the future is going to get any better either, another rebuild...how many has there been since 2010? This will be the fourth one by my count. I am just so over it. Parramatta with all the resources they have should be a top 4 team every year, other clubs would do anything to have some of what they have on offer but because the club is run by people who don't have an idea it's never going to happen.
