I seem to have stumbled upon a relic. Fantastic song, fantastic album

Brutal

I was there at this gig. This was really the first glimpse of The Shape of Punk to Come-sound, the record wouldn't come out until the next year but New Noise was released as a Mini-Single this year 1997, and it indeed was quite a big revelation of New Noise to all of us there, a vast step forward in hardcore music in this very instance. It was a bit of mixed crowd because this was a festival event created by the public swedish radio with a lot of bands playing during 3 days broadcasted live on the radio. But since it was in their hometown in the peak of the hardcore movement in Umeå and Sweden, there were a lot of their fans there as well. But I can clearly remember (myself being a 15-year old hardcore kid at the time) that this was something completely different than what we had heard before. Refused were truly the founding fathers-figures of the whole movement in Sweden. We might have had different favourite bands than them, but the respect and importance of them amongst us was immense. And, as someone mentioned in a comment below, when they performed this (also going out on live radio to about 1 million listeners) we were indeed shellshocked. A great time and place to have been part of, eventhough I was heartbroken for the first time in my life this very day :)

@Telemacaster I think T(I)NC is great and The Lost Patrol band is not bad, of course none as good as Refused. Doesn't make them any less good though. Dennis is a musical genius.

So many bands try to copy these and all fail. Absolutely brilliant!
