The key issue is that the belt is not pushing on the tensioner, so the tensioner plate will just spin round and round and the alignment tab will never move. Once the belt is on there, and the tensioner plate is rotated counter clockwise, the tab will begin to move and align with the spring. Once aligned and you go to tighten it, the tab will try to move, so make sure you have a tool on it to prevent if from moving. This video should be taken down or updated as it could result in essentially no tension on the belt.

I have the 2003 2.0L.... Can u help me? My tensioner pulley melted, warped and then snapped the power steering belt. I bought new belt and discovered the melted pulley. Ordered that but I can't figure out how to take it off and every KZbin video iv found has the bolt exposed for easy removal (I'm guessing that's the 2.4L) but mine doesn't look like that?

From the service manual: (scanned poorly, but still understandable) unlino@ (8) Insert a 6 mm Allen wrench into the hexagr pening located on the top plate of the belt tensioner Rotate top plate COUNTERCLOCK. VISE. The tensioner pulley will move against the elt and the tensioner setting notch will eventually tart to move clockwise. Watching the movement of he setting notch, continue rotating the top plate ounterclockwise until the setting notch is aligned rith the spring tang (Fig. 139). Using the allen rench to prevent the top plate from moving, torque he tensioner lock bolt to 25 N•m (220 in. Ibs.). Set- ing notch and spring tang should remain aligned fter lock bolt is torqued. (6) Remove allen wrench and torque wrench.

You are giving people bad advice. You almost figured out how it actually works but it went over your head. As you noticed on the bench, when you pry against the pulley that tab moves. your pry bar is taking place of the belt. put the belt on, turn the 1/4" or sometimes Allen wrench clockwise and when the belt is close to proper tension the tab will start to move clockwise until it lines up with the spring. tighten the bolt to 40 ft lbs.

The 1/4 inch slot will be pointed to the left side. I put it on like u have it now with the slot pointed to the right and it didn't work right made my belt too tight so when I turned the 1/4 slot all the way around to where it was pointed to the left of the bracket put my belt on and the tightened it clockwise and it lined up the way the other people said it should. Hope it helped

I have a 2001. So I bought the upgraded part after dealing with the plastic style. I gave up on Partsology as they still have not issued a refund for the defective tensioner and it was not what was in the photo. So I ordered the same updated model you have. And I had trouble looking how to put it in. I have the FSM, and have to go over how to put the new updated part on. I have to say, of all the jobs that I have done? This one is a PITA. I just got the part in today, and thankfully found your video explaining this. Wish we has more old men that work on cars. They were and always will be the best teachers and people to get advice from. THANK YOU!

I have the exact Allegra, same year to,, now having problems with 12 volt,, no lights or anything that runs off of 12 volt. Do you know where the disconnect switch is located?? I’ve looked everywhere!!! I found out the solenoid in the gen bay is bad, and I traced the toggle switch 12 volt wired from switch to solenoid, so I think that set up could be the disconnect. Bought a new solenoid from Cummings Inc. and installed it, and the 2 wires from the 12 volt toggle switch going to the solenoid are getting very hot, and the solenoid is getting very hot also,, so I disconnected the house batteries to avoid a fire. Now I’m at a total stand still, because I’m not sure how to move forward. I’ve called several mobile RV companies, but they all are very busy,,, I got put on a list with one mobile service but he can’t get here until 2 1/2 weeks,, so I’d like to figure this out as soon as possible. Do you know or anyone out there know how to solve my problem??? Thank you all!!!!!!!

I have been using visible for over a year. I am not full time rving yet. However I work on a tugboat that moves around a lot. Some visible tips: go on reddit and find a party to join. There's no reason you should be paying more than 25 per month. Visible Sims work in jetpacks and hotspots. If you buy a good one or you are tech saavy you can set the TTL to 64 and you wont get throttled or capped. I use the pep wave br1 max, I get on average 30 MBS down 11 up, perfectly usable.
