Thanks for this. seen all kinds of stuff to try and never been able to get them off. Because your video I tried goof off because it was the adhesive remover I had on hand did two vehicles in the time it’s taking me to try other magic eraser and scrubbing pads and junk.

If you're worried about the dressing being slick I wouldn't risk it at all. As long as you use something that's water based and you "knock it down" with a microfiber towel afterwards you should be good to go!

You can actually let it sit for a while before buffing it off with zero issues. If you didn't buff it off at all though it would cure very unevenly and not look good!

For sure! I like the greenworks electric pressure washers for at home use. The 2000 psi one is a very well rounded and affordable pressure washer. That's what I started my business out with and it was a workhorse!

Thank you for this very informative demo! I purchased CSL to apply to my new car & glad I found your step by step process. I do have 1 question, you said you use brand new towels out of the pack, I get my MF towels from TRC & they always have a card saying “Wash before first use” now I’m not a professional Detailer so I’ve always followed those instructions. I have a new pack of 4 Edgeless 350 ultra plush towels that I planned to use when applying CSL so I’m now conflicted as your a professional & use new from the pack but they say to wash before use. This is an honest question as this will be my first time applying a ceramic coating & I want to make sure I do it right. Thanks!

Hi there! I'm glad the video was helpful! Those are some nice towels and will work great when leveling the coating. I've never washed towels right out of the pack :) It's more than likely a disclaimer from the manufacturer to make sure there's no dye or residue left from the factory. A good solid shake and visual inspection is all I do when I pull them out of the bag! Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Just figure out what a fair labor rate is for you and then add in your product costs and any overhead expenses you may have and that should get you pretty close!

@@high-defdetailing1485 I got the gtechniq Crystal Syrum Ultra. Bought Ceramic Gwash, and C2V3 for my future car washes. Haven't had to wash it just yet, stays clean so much longer than it used to!

To wash cars? Certainly not! However if I'm paying someone a lot of money to perform extensive paintwork and protective services on my expensive vehicle I sure would hope they have training, certification, insurance, and a properly run business.

In this case, this is a single layer of Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra. You can put on a top layer of Exo, but Crystal Serum Ultra is so strong by itself we get great results with just a single layer!

@@high-defdetailing1485 For me it has only positives, ease of application, the lack of scent (i hate scented dressings) the minimal darkening, and applied it over a month ago and holds the same as the day i applied it! That is not true! Ceramic coatings definitely help keep your vehicle stay looking cleaner, and they are MUCH easier to wash, but you still have to wash them!

Great question and I know it sounds weird right? I often ask this to customer's b/c if they're going to never hand wash their vehicle and only take it through automatic tunnel washes with brushes for example I would not recommend them wasting their money on the top tier ceramic coating package. No need to pay the extra for a professional coating if it's just going to get swirled up and degraded from bad car washes. Maybe some sales people would disagree but I try and be honest and up front

These are the Barina ones from amazon. They're pretty cheap but have held up well! I really like how easy they are to link together and don't require any fancy wiring. Just plug and play.

Correct. They probably say that on the box for ease of application and to limit the risk of getting high spots. But waiting a good 30-45 seconds is the sweet spot I feel

Great video. I which you or anybody give a sample case.. they all talk about range, the best, the level etc. But a simple sample on a new car ( which I image is where we like to invest, I personally I am not going to spend 500 to 1000 dlls on a old car, I being buying card for 30+ years and never done it because is new stuff) again if people sample a new car out of the dealer with any kind of prep ( I am assuming not much, how much damage you expect out of the dealer?) and maybe pick a level of ceramic?.. Give us a number to start even if we know it might be little different at final cost. Seem all they want is to make us walk to the shop to grab us and trap to a most costly sell lie a dealership. Sorry I had bad experiences.

Will that solvent work on the tire crayon around the entire tire tread? Mineral spirits and goo gone did not work. It’s my spare that will be mounted on my camper and the lines are an eye sore for me. I won’t be driving on it 🙄

For sure! You can also try 3m adhesive remover - the kind in a can like lacquer thinner cones in. I’ve been using that lately and it seams to work faster than the tar and glue remover!

Thank you! It is safe to use on paint, painted plastics, vinyl/decals/stripes, and even textured plastics. You can also use it on wheels. It is not recommended for glass or rubber weather stripping so you wouldn’t really get any results in that application.

Paying thousands for ceramic coating is a scam. It’s really not that hard if you’ve done your research. I do everything myself, maybe not up to “professional”standards, but good enough that it looks great and that 90% of people won’t see the difference.

Is it a scam to pay thousands to have a tradesman do work on your home? Labor alone to install a fence in our backyard averaged around $6k. I opted to do it myself - researched, rented tools, and killed a 3 day weekend doing it with some help. The results were good and I’m happy with it. It’s not a scam however to hire a professional to do their trade and provide a service that they’ve specialized in for a decade. It’ll be done professionally, in a timely manner, and usually backed up by some type of guarantee or warranty. Plus, you can use that time you saved to invest in your family or another activity. All depends on what you value and how you want to spend your time and money!

You can use a paint thickness gauge to give you some basic readings. They even make pretty involved ones that can tell you the difference between substrates as well. Just depends on how much $$$ you want to spend on one!

Solution Finish is great! I sometimes will use that first if the trim is really faded. Make sure you wipe it all off and use a panel prep or IPA solution as well before going to C4. That's a great combo though!

I never recommend applying any ceramic coating outdoors, but you technically could with this one. It will be a trickier install though and you'll have a high risk of leaving behind smearing and high spots.

You can definitely do that, and they probably advise that in their videos as it's a pretty safe way to install without avoiding any potential issues. Letting it sit for a bit is a pro tip though that will give you an even better result if you have a bit more experience!

Does it dry so there is no tachiness left pretty quick (a few hours)?, im in a very dusty environment (especially in winter) and most products i have used for the plastic on my vehicles attracts dust and dirt like fly paper.

I use Gtechniq G1 for glass and love it. There are lots of good glass coatings out there but G1 seems to last just a bit longer

@@ArthurMSoto Gtechniq is not entirely user friendly, although if you have the right temperature and humidity conditions any of the coatings go on pretty easily. You just have to watch out for high spots on areas that you may "smear" the excess coating into. For a real simple coating I'd recommend Optimum Gloss Coat. That's what I started out with for several cars before moving into the Gtechniq line!

You will always want to do a thorough prep wash and polish/paint correction before getting to this point where I started in the video. A solid prep wash includes using a degreaser, bug and tar remover if needed, iron remover, hand wash, and a clay bar.
