The most important thing is how you bring customers to buy from your business and you didnt mention that at all. All of what you said is secondary compared to bringing customers to your website or etsy shop. Hope you answer that in a comment or video
@percysangels25 күн бұрын
In this video I only talk about how to launch a business (photos, descriptions, website). Bringing in customers (marketing deep dive) would definitely be a whole other video I hope to make in the future. I think the most important thing is to build a good foundation before launching, without a strong basis, no one will want to buy your products! To answer your question quickly though, most customers come from tiktok and instagram. For Etsy, I do no promotions - it is purely organic.

Thank you for sharing your experiences! I know your dad would be very proud. ❤ I have a question about the Pooh embroidery design you show. How do you sell it without violating copyright? So many other KZbinrs warn not to do it. Did you purchase special licensing? Did you go through Disney or another company that is licensed to sell their designs? I’m trying to learn here. 😊
@percysangels26 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words! Winnie-the-Pooh is now copyright free! It is on the public domain. I don’t sell any other Disney characters until it is on the public domain! You have to be very careful and do your research before selling items with certain copyrighted designs ☺️ I think a lot of people don’t know Winnie is now copyright free - once it’s on the public domain, you can sell products with the character without violating any laws since it’s free use. Hope this helps!

@percysangelsАй бұрын
You could make bundles or start selling digital designs of your art as well (this way you won't have to ship it out and it is passive income) - later on you can expand your business and sell other merchandise using your art (mugs, clothing, tote bags, etc). This is what a lot other small businesses do when they first start off selling very low priced items like stickers.

Not sure if you have any idea, but I recently registered for GST/HST for my business as well! We're operating in Ontario, so that would be enough, but we also ship to different provinces, and I am not sure whether we need provincial tax numbers as well... so annoying!
@percysangelsАй бұрын
In Canada, if you’re registered for GST/HST, you’re generally required to collect these taxes on sales to customers across the country. However, some provinces have additional provincial sales taxes (PST or QST). The requirement to register and collect these additional taxes depends on the province and your level of sales there. For example: Quebec: You may need to register for and collect QST if your sales to Quebec residents exceed a certain threshold. British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan: You may need to register for PST if you have a significant presence or sales in these provinces. Hope this helps! 😊
@annadesn665Ай бұрын
@@percysangels thanks, definitely helps! I wish one day we'll have an "all-in-one" option to register for GST/HST, PST, QST, for ecommerce purposes! To be honest, I'm surprised it doesn't exist yet. It seems like a nightmare for medium sized businesses to keep up with all the provincial taxes. (small businesses I would say sell under 30k, and large companies have people to deal with just this!)...

Thank you for your support🥰 we used to outsource digitization since it’s fairly hard to pick up. I am lucky, since my partner learned how to use Wilcom - now we do it in house!! He learned it from watching KZbin videos - there are plenty. If you’re looking to outsource, I’d recommend looking on fiverr, it is the cheapest way we did it.

OMG!! Thank you for this video!! So, I've ventured into a new Etsy journey. My previous shop was Print-on-Demand, but now I'm diving into shipping orders myself. Exciting stuff! However, my first order hit me with a shipping surprise. How do you work that magic while keeping prices in check? Do you handle shipping labels through Etsy? I tried it, and it seems Expedited is the only option. Weird, right? I was hoping for regular mail. Any tips to ease my shipping stress? My focus is all over the place! Kindest regards
@percysangelsАй бұрын
Congratulations on starting your journey!! 😊 I always charge shipping no matter what. Although it is expensive for the customers, it is the only way I can ship products out. I have my own website and an Etsy account but I never use Etsy to ship since I find it more expensive than my courier. Depending on where you’re located, there are usually budget couriers (for us in Canada there’s couriers like chit chats) that offer lower rates for small businesses. When starting out, I definitely recommend looking for budget couriers near your area. If not, compare prices amongst different couriers. And also experience shipping locally/ within your country , and then expanding your geographic area there. Hope this helps!!
