I absolutely the last few bars, the soprano cornet at the end is fabulous. They must get to the end of this and think to themselves " and THAT is how its done"

Pieces like this are why I love bands (silver/brass/military) and the sounds they can create. This is fantastic, and thanks Grimethorpe for posting. Loving it, and best wishes from Cornwall👍👍👍

Why do the soloists play with so much vibrato? Is it just the accepted, traditional style or a competition to see who can produce the most wobbly, bowel-loosening notes? ;-)
@hiimrezgaming98859 ай бұрын
1. To most poeple, it sounds nice. 2. Things like vibrato has to be exaggerated to be heard by the people in the hall. 3. This performance is recorded by microphones that are quite close, which is why it can be heard as much. 4. English bands tend to play with a lot of vib, so yes that is tradition, but also, playing without vib just makes it sound boring lol.

Not a bad attempt at transferring Adrian Drover’s arrangement for Maynard Ferguson’s London band in the early 70s…but I do think that brass bands would do well to steer clear of any form of jazz or groove music-it’s a different beast that they are really not suited to.

I really dont understand what part a conductor plays , they were halfway through the song before he arrived and playing perfectly.. and he was wearing boxing gloves

Hes the guy that puts it all together and fine tunes everyone's parts. The conductor has literally done his work before any performance

McArthur Park Eternal Explanation of Music and Inspiration: Several versions all have one thing in common.. they are very long instrumental and diverse in lyrics.. To understand this music the experience returns you to Genesis the first creation of sentient being Adam and Lilith. No Eve was not Adam first wife.. Eve came second...a part of Adam God created man in his image ( think imagination) God already created Angels spiritual beings and the Forth Dimension Universe ( let there be light) Time and Space Existence as we currently know it. Macarthur Park is the symbol of the Garden of Eden and what happened there. Lilith left Adam for his refusal to accept her equality and right to choose The Song tells of Adams Remorse and Heartbreak The first human emotion Second only to Gratitude. The cake left out in the Rain..ignore nature as God is the Baker .. time ..it took so long to Bake It.. That recipe lost to transcend the Next Dimension Man's lost Love Lilith Then came Eve who bore their first Children Cain and Able .
