I am planning to use the Painless wiring harness on my XR build as well. What did you use for all the connectors to headlights etc, I assume you cut all the original connectors off and used something like Deutsch connectors? Or are you trying to keep all the original plugs? Sorry if I missed if you mentioned it already. Cheers
@MattyWillo4 ай бұрын
The headlight connectors come with the kit, so once you’ve routed the harness and got the length all sorted you can cut the wires and put on the headlight connectors supplied. As for everything else, I’m going Deutsche. They provide a lot of ring terminals for your engine bay sensors and power wires so you’re really only left with plugging the interior wires, and a few other bits like plugs to indicators and marker lights

Great work, could have been alot worse and put in a holden v6 or a chev small block. Although the Barra is a great engine, it's sorta been done to death now.

I forgot to add that the timing when i first tried to start it was at 12 degrees initial, i then changed it to match the cam profile to 22 degrees initial timing, fired right up. Still need to run it up for 20 minutes then fine tune it a bit more but i need an exhaust for that, otherwise ill have a lot of complaints from neighbours.
