If I were to add two suits, I would include stars to connotate dreams and ambition and hourglasses to represent the passages of time and fate. In a deck looking like today's cards, the hourglasses would be solid and black, so there would be no holes, but in medieval-esque times--for the sake of world building in a fantasy setting--there would be still-simple fill lines; and the modern hourglasses would be black. Stars, separate from pentacles or coins turned to diamonds, would be red in a more modern setting for cards, even though some folks may misinterpret such imagery; as such, some companies might defer to a third color for stars and hourglasses as it suits them.

some tarots have a 5th suit in addition to the majors ie the kings journey has a 'spirit' suit . i quite liked the gold stars now we live in a world of fame/celebrity . the crowns and anchors make sense after the old gambling game , don't even mind the ships wheel or possibly the rook/tower but the tennis raquets and bullets should be given a very wide birth and the eagles always gonna remind people of nazis (albania , poland, barclays bank etc) can't believe you didn't mention ganjifa cards from persia/india , had suits like baboons , elephants , soldiers , treasure , pinapples anything you like really you could have up to 160 cards in a deck and a lot of them were circular

Huh...I just got this as a recommend and I rather enjoyed it! BTW...allow me to add another deck to the 8-suited lot as one deck was released after this video was. I recently picked up something called "Heckadeck", which is a HUGE deck of playing cards complete with a bunch of games that can be played with them. The deck adds four new suits: Blue Knives and Clouds, and Green Acorns and Planets. They also went kinda crazygonuts with the additional cards they added. The suited cards have the usual 13 but also have a 0, 11, and Beast for each suit as well. There are also two suited cards called Hunters and Travellers...four Jokers, one for each color, eight cards each called Arrows and Talismans, two of each for each color...three non-suited cards called the Darkness, the Conjurer, and the Omnihedron...and finally a card called the Watcher that represents all eight suits. There is also a blank card that can used for whatever the user wants it to be as well as a card that MUST BE DESTROYED! (That last one I think was just added for a cheap way to generate social media traffic as they want you to document its destruction on social media, complete with a hashtag.)

I respect you colour spectrum idea, but I think that the colours from the primary and secondary colours from RGB (pixels on computers, RYGCBM) and RYB (painting ROYGBP) could join to make an alright-ish 8 colour spectrum like this : Magenta/pink , red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple/violet.
