If I have wood studs in my rough opening, do you recommend cutting the filter frame to fit around them? It looks like the frame depth won't allow the frame to fit flush with the drywall

I got a new return grille 20x20 and it's alittle smaller than my current old one and the filter is snug also I've searched for wider dimensions but none that goes to 23 on the outside I need help

Can you figure out the size of your grille by the size of the filter that goes into it or do you have to measure the duct opening?

Hi my return doesn't have a filter in it, should it have one?? Also does it matter which way my vent holes are facing? Up or down? Mines dont move I would have to flip it to direct the holes

This is talking about the vent that air is pulled IN to the wall, up to the attic or where your AC system is. You're supposed to change your filter every month or so, so I hope you have one... the vent holes go in the direction of airflow, so they point down if it's on the wall.

@@otallono yes I have a filter in the main vent, I was wondering if the return needed one I believe my vent needs to be cleaned everytime I dust its smells like laundry lint which smells good but I don't know where its coming from we recently changed the filter, cleaned and bought a new dryer hose etc.. I'm just tired of sniffling and sneezing. Thank you for responding. ❤
