I'd love to meet n learn from the North Eastern Natives!!! I didn't know Natives still existed there. I'm a North Western Salish Native from Montana. I thought the Indians in the Eastern regions were all gone. I thought tbey were bred out. It is so cool to learn they are still alive there!

I miss those days😢. I wish so much that our kids still did that. Now its phones, tablets, IPads, tv, computers, laptops, n even worse, substances. Kids don't even play outside anymore unless thr forced off the devices. Thats so sad. Thr not learning anything but technology. That's why our traditions and cultures are dying.

Yea I agree, we can all learn to connect with others and nature more, the constant distractions are effecting our traditions. The responsibility falls on each of us to carry on whatever language and traditions we have been taught or are learning.

When people realize how rich in spirit and mind Indigenous culture is, the true cost of residential schools becomes apparent. Think of the colonists too, who were long ago colonized. Everyone really needs "re-indigenization" (maybe Americans and Canadians even more so).

"Smoke Dance " It's called the Smoke Dance" yet no one is smoking. And frankly, It looks quite a bit like all other Indian dances. I suspect its origin came from peyote use.

i have a question why do yous call us “indians” when we’re not even indian were native some tribes have their own name that they wished to be called so what’s up with the “indian”?
@darz3829
@darz3829 2 ай бұрын
@@GiaElm-fe1yq "...o what’s up with the “indian”?" Yes, Columbus was mistaken. But in his defense. Indians did not correct it with a generic name. And over two hundred years they still didn't offer a name. You notice that people who came to America called themselves Americans. That served to unite us. Separate tribes just divide. And still do. To answer your question, the term Indian" was a useful catch-all and right now, there are still those who use it (like the American Indian Movement). So if tribal people can ever get their act together, maybe we can get on board.

If you think being a bootlicker for the government makes you a tough guy or someone who loves their country you clearly have never served next to men who died in battle and you had to go home and look their families in their faces to tell them their son their brother their nephew their husband their daddy will never come home because the government wanted to fight a third world country while the politicians who sent you are making millions from you and your poor ass friends fighting and dying. If you have not experienced this I suggest you take your bs elsewhere.

In just one comment you have shown that you are ignorant about a few things 1) You don’t know history or the treaties that were made between the government and our legally SOVEREIGN Nation. 2) You’re just brainwashed enough to believe that going to war in a third world country with no real standing military while the politicians and their families stay home is something that is righteous. 3) For some people the only way we will go to war is if this country is being invaded by an actual standing military. So please stop your bootlicking nonsense the government doesn’t care if you die they don’t care about the devastation it causes your family. It’s 2024 and everyone knows that the US didn’t belong in Vietnam, iraq or Afghanistan we don’t belong in Ukraine we don’t even belong in Isreal and Palestine we belong right here protecting our land and our boarders.

At this moment in time to serve the US government would be to stand against the very principles the said government was founded upon, and therefore a blow to our fellow countrymen. Not to mention an immediate violation of the oath to uphold the US Constitution.

I am so sorry you went through this. My mother is a victim of domestic violence as well, but this is better want you to know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel there’s joy in the morning there is peace. There is grace I don’t care who sees what I just posted. I don’t care because the silence is done. I am done being quiet What happened to her? Should never happen to any woman, but you are free for any woman that’s going through this don’t be angry with God and say that it is his fault lean into God and give him everything lean into Jesus and give him everything and trust him and when you leave, don’t look back believe God, trust Jesus let the Holy Spirit show you where to go you safe as long as he’s with you be blessed and I’m so proud of you
