Ook judo gevoel is fundamenteel anders dan aikido. pull when pushed, push when pulled.

@@outofthebox7 I just rewatched the video, I was wrong, some of these sutemi comes from Aïkido Yoseikan (like this one 1:23 and this one 2:00 for example, we use them in Aïkibudo which comes from Yoseikan Aïkido), but some also comes from Yoseikan Ju-Jutsu (like this one 0:34). It's also in the decription of the video "Sutemi technieken uit het Yoseikan Aikido / Yoseikan Ju-jutsu tijdens een examen voor 3e dan". Which isn't really a surprise, since master Mochizuki's goal was to reunited Japanese martial arts in a single dojo (the Yoseikan). Yeah, I'm sorry, I answered too quickly...

That looks a little different from the randori done at my dojo. I usually come home with bruises, an occasional black eye or someone's fist print in my skull. I wonder if I should learn how to defend against a karate chop though. Good flow though, that's good to see.

@Davi Stanesco: Yoseikan Aikido is the Aikido as it was introduced in Europe in 1951 by Minoru Mochizuki (10e dan). Minoru Mochizuki was a direct student of Morihei Ueshiba, de founder of Aikido, a direct student of Jigoro Kano, the fouder of Judo and a direct student of Gishin Funakoshi, the founder of Karate. Minoru Mochizuki taught many martial arts from his dojo, which was called Yoseikan (the place where you can learn the right way, or the way that is good for you). The Aikido from the Yoseikan dojo is nowadays referred to as Yoseikan Aikido. Typical for Yoseikan Aikido is it maintained the self defense value of the techniques together with the elegance of Aikido. In the Netherlands the Yoseikan Aikido is represented by Edgar Kruyning (6th dan), who was a direct student of Minoru Mochizuki and received his personal permission to represent and further develop the Yoseikan Aikido and Yoseikan Ju-Jutsu.

Yoseikan is a school or style of japanese martial arts in particular Aikido. It was started by an original student of the founders of judo, aikido and karate, named Mochizuki. After he travelled to Europe, in particular France, where he intended to teach Aikido, he encountered western arts like boxing and savate and realized that soft styles like Aikido needed to adapt. So he incorporated more boxing and other modifications to make his aikido style harder and more realistic training. I studied Yoseikan for a few years and it was an great experience. I learned a lot.

Looks good. Yeah mixture of aikiki and yoseikan techniques. Minoru studied both amongst other things. Our Senseii (unno) was Minoru's student and uke and he even changed techniques when he got to Australia to make things work. Great movement here and top quality ukes. Shame segal senseii is so old, he would have the perfect propent to bring aikido to MMA. I practise a number of styles and still love some of the direct techniques that Yoseikan has. For demos, flowing movement better
