Was this a one way trip? How often do they let you do this section?
@bentheredonethat07 Жыл бұрын
One day trip. We do it once or twice a year. We will be on the Great Smoky Mountain run starting in Andrew's NC riding to the NOC and then to Bryson City and back on May 7th.

I think this is easily one of the greatest things I have ever seen!, but boy was I bummed out at the end cause I really wanted to get a closeup of how you were turning the speeders and getting them on the trailers!, perhaps you could keep this in mind for another video!?

Anyone got a speedster for sale? Love the click clack sound of seeing the USA, not in a Chevrolet, but in the front seat of a historic track maintenance cruiser. This is better than taking a cruise in the Caribbean. Can you video a speedster trip on the Alaskan rails?

5/12/2022 As I remember, this track was part of a Southern RR line that ran from Ashville, NC, through Murphy, NC. to Copper Hill, GA.( I think It was Copper Hill) where it at one time connected to the old L & N short cut (branch line) between Marietta, Ga and Etowah, TN. Everything between Murphy and the old L & N line was mostly abandoned and some removed. Nice to see the track from your viewpoint, ;-)

Since it's a pre-civil.war.tunnel.i bet it's haunted as all get out. Just saying Does anyone know the year it was dug? Have a great day everyone.

The marker stone on the tunnel list 1850. I would assume that is the completion date as the stone work would not have been done during the dig.

It is a Fairmont A4D modified. I also have a video of the build. Check it out. The car is still evolving. It was stretched to accommodate 8 people. It has GPS, reverse camera, AC, Nathan K5LA horns, 3 air tanks, 3 ton turn table that lifts in 4 seconds, 20 gallon fuel tank, and a modernized control console.

Why do you need motorized vehicle. In British commonwealth, there used to be a light weight three or four wheeled cart that you can put on track by yourself and move it like a rower and it can even ride over climb. No need to go this expensive. Watch railway adventures across australia. Scott McGregor has shown a “hand trike” AKA trafalgar velocepede. That is stable, light, extra durable and go upto 20 miles/hour, two person version go even faster.🙄😊

Very nice video...I love the drone shots, except he needs to be a little lower ( or closer), the clarity is great! Looks like a lot of fun, especially with a tour of the shops. Quite an impressive array of equipment, something for everyone. Approx. how many miles did you run, and what was your average speed? Thanks for posting...that was fun! ✌😁
@bentheredonethat074 жыл бұрын
It was the museum run about 3 miles each direction. Speed was about 10 miles per hour. We normally run about 28 miles an hour on our main line runs.

Excellent video! One of these days I'll join NARCOA. I've driven the road beside where you rode in St. Mary's. As part of the effort to be technically correct (the best kind of correct), it's actually, factually "Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay." I was never stationed there, but friends from Nuclear Power School and S5G prototype were.
