As an '80s child, I ran home after school every day so I could catch Knightmare on TV. It was such an amazing show - and despite being for kids, I appreciated how insanely difficult it was. You can see people entering a new room and having only 3-5 seconds to avoid instantaneous death, and apparently, only eight teams won throughout its eight seasons. It was like watching people trying to play a text adventure on the Commodore or Spectrum (which I was also obsessed with growing up). Such a remarkable era in general!

"Simon.... sidestep to your left...." The most famous moment in Knightmare's history. Guess whose life was rightfully made a misery in the playground for at least two years?

The BBC had Blue Peter and CITV (RIP) had this, guess what I watched as a kid!

By all accounts, the contestants in clip 2 were bored because of all the waiting they had to do (usually 1-2 hours between each room). So they purposely chucked their mate in a pit.
