GP is one of the greatest underrated songwriters of the 1970s, and if he's somewhat fallen off the radar in the UK, I'm very glad he's found an appreciative audience in the USA. Van Morrison or Ewan McColl would have given their eye teeth to have written this song - one of the most evocative pieces of urban romanticism I know.

Why does everything so cool and magical seem to happen in new York. First it was the stones recording get your ya yas out. Then the Allman Brothers live at the Fillmore. Next there's mad dogs and Englishmen also from the Fillmore. Lastly you have zeppelin live at the garden.

Beautiful job! Kudos all around! Thank you for learning this visceral tune so well, and for posting it. I've loved this song since the "Blows Against the Empire" album came out while I was in college. And yes: I'm old :-) I've got tears in my eyes right now, it was that pretty. You folks are great at attaining the ensemble sense of arranging this. Great mix! Nobody is mixed way hotter than everyone else -- admirably done, by a band with more guitarists than Skynyrd, or the Eagles. It's great that there is a variety of guitar tones, so that the instrumental harmonies are easily heard. It's so great to be able to hear such accomplished musicians who've found each other, and we out here benefit from it. Vox also came through very nicely; relative volumes are well balanced, and youse guyz'z (they speak like that in New Jersey, where I'm originally from) are spot-on with pitch. Beautiful voices; you evoke the original lineup of singers. I wish the bassist could have gotten more camera time. As a bassist myself, his part is largely my impetus for seeking out and listening to this video. I love his lines, starting at around 4:00. It reminds me of a bass continuo part in a string ensemble. And he shows his creativity with the part, as it's a major departure from the original. It inspiries me to go start learning a more lyrical part like this one is; I've always done the Casady line with a bass similar to his old Epiphone. I think it borders on criminal that you've only had 272 views and 8 likes (including mine). If there's a way to point people to this video, I'll do my best to bump your numbers up some. OK, I'll stop gushing now. This rendition of one of my top 10 songs of all time to hear & play does my heart glad. I've just now subscribed. Where are you folks located? Where do you perform/tour? Now that I'm retired from Alaska and live in NC, I have the luxury of taking my motorhome kinda anywhere to do/see/hear things we want to do/see/hear :-) -- Barney in NC --

Absolutely BAD FUCKING ASS Quinn! 'Why Does Love' has been a favorite of mine ever since the beginning, with Derek and the Dominoes! I wish I could play like you! Eric has been MY hero also since I was young and I've tried my damndest to play like him ever since the first time I heard Badge! Keep it up Quinn, I will follow you! 😁🤘🎸

I don't know where the talent comes from. Quinn, I think has been playing in front of crowds since he was a kd, 6 or 7 yrs old, Taj Farrant started around the same time Trucks - no words Bonamassa started playing professionally as well at a really young age.

Lindsey did all the background vocals on the original. Female sounding vocals were him played faster to raise the pitch.
