How wide is that body? Your truck is a single rear wheel axle correct? A really nice aluminum ex-military mobile office has come up locally - very well built but 8 feet wide and originally mounted on a one ton, I have a Ram 2500 that I'd like to put it on but I'm hesitant to put this on a single rear wheel truck - once loaded with tools and wire/cable, it'll be pushing capacity. I'm curious to get other opinions as I've never had a service body.

Question: I have 3 sets of wires in junction box/fan box. One is hot (120V). other two not hot and goes to switch. All 3 have 3 wires(black, white and copper).House built in 1978. I have 2 way switch with its own wiring diagram. Fan has its own wiring diagram with 5 wires(2 back, 2 white , 1 green). I can connect fan/light set up to switch. Now I have a closed connected loop without power. How to connect now that hot wire at the fan to this new connected loop ? Cant find any video here with this set up. All videos have example of switch with one hot wire and other not. Unless that third hot wire joins to other two at the fan box I don't have power at switch.

I'm try to help. Did you take a picture before disconnecting the wires? How many wires do you see coming from the ceiling box?
@b.b665213 күн бұрын
Yes i took picture, but. previous fan was old heater/fan/light and new one is fan/light .
@workingmanrondoyle328713 күн бұрын
Ok, that makes sense. The switch location had two stacked rocker switches and one extra wire for the Fasco fan, light, and heater combo. If your installing just a fan & light combo, you'll only need to use two of the longest wires. Cap the (third)extra wire off after you confirm the ends with a multi-meter. Wire the naturals together at both ends. Use one of the hots for the light and the other hot for the fan. If your working with a single gang box and want to keep it in place, use a single pole stack switch. If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks for watching and commenting on the Video . Sounds like you got your money's worth out of those tracks. From all the comments on the mini-skid forums I'm on, other people are experiencing the same. Good for 300 to 500 hours is average, depending on conditions there used in. I was hoping to get 1000 hours from them. The local Vermeer dealership told me that was good.... Really 🤔 I said !!!

I need to daisy chain some low voltage lighting using 12/2 low voltage wire and connecting a Kichler light with 18 gauge wire. How do I use shrink wrap/solder to make this 3 way connection since it will now have two 12 gauge wire and one 18 gauge wire and still make it waterproof? Thanks! I just found ur channel and subscribed! :)
@workingmanrondoyle328716 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. That is a very good question. Let me see if I can answer it for you. For low voltage lighting, I would group the 12 ga. grounds & the 18 ga. ground from the light together. Strip 1" back on all of them and twist together. Slide on your Marine grade heat shrink past the stripped wire. Soldier the ends. Trim off excess and install a direct burial wire nuts over the end. Slide heat shrink up to wire nut and heat the shrink to finish the splice. Repeat the same process with the hot.

Nice video. I have a 90's model double wide that had originally a 2 gang panel type switch going 1 to fan and 1 to light of ceiling. Dad tore the old panel switches that did not have screws for the leads but had a push type of switch that small razors cut through the wire sheath. Those were tossed. Now I'm left with a 12/2 coming in from the panel box and 2 more 12/2's going to the ceiling fan/light in the wall. So 3 wires, 1 power and 2 load to the fan/light. I have no idea how to wire these. But...after watching your video I'm thinking that I should do the grounds as you did...all three together and then allow for only two of them coming off and connecting to each of the 2 single pole switches. Then join all of the common white wires together and wire nut. Then put then use a pig tail to the panel black wire getting 2 leads coming to each of the switches. Then take the load black wires putting 1 on one switch and 1 on the other switch. Is this right?
@workingmanrondoyle328726 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching the video and commenting. Your description of a panel switch is probably a (decor'a switch)= rectangular in shape. The way you've explained your wiring is correct. I would have thought one of those wires would have been for a vanity light and one another wire would be for an exhaust fan light combination.

What would I do differently at the fan/light if I wanted them both to run off one switch and only ran 14-2 to the unit?
@workingmanrondoyle3287Ай бұрын
Hey Anthony, thanks for watching. If your only running 1 switched 14-2 NM wire to the fan/light combo, You would connect the ground to the ground screw, connect the two whites coming from the outlets neutral to the house's natural and then connect the blue and black from the fan/light outlets to the house's black (switched hot). Wiring the fan/light combo this way will turn both of them on at the same time.

Ron, great video. Thank you so much. I have a question for you. Currently we have a gas stove and the receptacle behind is a normal 120v. We'd like to go with an electric stove/range and I know that we're going to have to install the correct outlet that can handle the electric current. I realize that stoves have either 3-prong or 4-prong. Which should I install? And what is the difference? Thanks Ron.
@workingmanrondoyle328726 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. If you're installing a new range in a new or older home that doesn't already have pre-existing wiring for a range application you have to run a three conductor+ground= a four prong cord set and matching outlet. There will be 2 hots, neutral and a ground for this appreciate. This was mandated many NEC. Code cycles ago. I hope the information helps you.

@workingmanrondoyle3287Ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. That's a great question. It would be a violation if using drywall screws in a metal or fiber type box. Not in plastic. I have had some drywall screws not fit properly if using fine threaded drywall screws. I always buy the course threaded one's now.

I have been doing electrical for 25 years and have far too many meters. Some very old. My Simpson is in for repairs, but it has tested more circuits than I ever will. This Klein CL110 is not and will not be top of the line, but it will get the job done. Mine has been all over 480/277 208/240/120. Even a bit of 5v 12v and 24v. Honestly, if you see a plastic part, don't expect it to last too long bouncing around a metal truck. Also, if it's only 50-75$ in this day and age, don't expect miracles of durability. You get what you pay for. I am just being honest. My old Simpson has plastic all over it, but it sure *looks* and feels sturdier than the Klein plastic. Eyes, ears, and brains. Use them. PS: This Klein CL110 is probably the 11th or 12th meter I have ever had, it's simply not the best. It *does* do the job well if you take care of it though.

I have to have a 120v bell strobe combo connected to the flow switch and smokes so when the flow starts or the smokes are triggered then everything goes off. Can I use diagram 2 and just replace the pull switch with the flow switch. In my head this works but not 100 percent sure.

The thing with most box store splitters is, they up the rating by using a larger hydraulic cylinder. But they don't put a bigger engine or pump on the things and then ya end up with these glacial speeds. The real problem is continental ( tectonic ) drift ... in some places it outruns the splitter wedge and its just messy having to turn to around all the time
