I have a 444, allways wanted a loder for it but bought a IH 606 with 2001 loader. My 444 had bent push rod , bad oil pump, bad distributor and 3pt arms wont stay up, besides all that its a neat little tractor. Allso it leaks oil every where.

It's an international 2000 loader. As far as I'm aware this is the only 2-arm, non-trip-bucket, loader IH made for many years. It's definitely the most common model I have seen. They put it on anything from 30hp class to 100hp class farm tractors.

You guys need a solid block of hardwood about the same diameter as the piston. Place it end on on the piston and hit the top of the wood with a sledgehammer. Works every time!

The drive sprockets are pressed on. It will take maybe a 30 ton special hydraulic press to remove and install them. There is a bellows type seal behind the sprocket as well. You will have to do process 4 times to transfer the sprockets . Lots of hard work. I would just cut the sprockets off your donor machine, like they were cut from the machine you are rebuilding. It is a common way of replacing the track sprockets. Find a common location to measure on the donor machine before you cut the sprockets off that you can use to set the side position on the new machine. Tack the sprockets in several locations checking run out. Then weld with 7018 Low Hydrogen welding rods. Alternate your welds as you would tighten a car rim. They don't have to be perfect just close. The more time you take in setting them the easier it will be on yourself. Did this on our D4D a few years back when we installed new sprocket rims with new rails. Warm your track link and freeze your track pin and be quick about it when you drive your track pin back in to connect rails.

While you have the track frames off. Flip them over and bust the roller bolts loose. Check them and reintall with thick thick grease. Schaffer 237 or 238 i forget the number. That will save you days of work in the future if you ever need to chang the rollers. You are going to need to get creative when pulling the sprockets. Since the sprocket is cut off. You may need 6 semicircular plates to pinch the spokes inside and out to use the 3 leg puller so you dont bend the spokes causing them to snap. Or have two semicrcular plates cut. And use square plates to pinch against the puller side of the spoke. Did you see western tractor on youtube weld new sprockets on several D4D fumigation versions.

fill a yard sprayer with diesel fuel and spray the internals while scrubbing them with a plastic brush. That should clean it pretty good. then flush it with diesel before filling with oil for the first time.

Suggestion get mag drill and drill and then weld in a new insert so you don't have to cut the frame. As for the field cut the grass down and moldboard plow it. This will turn the weeds under and kill the seeds of the weeds if you get them deep enough.

Well you had the tracks under it.all you had to do was pull the tracks over the sprocket and top roller pull it over the idler and put a bolt or piece of pipe in track joints to keep them together and push the tractor off trailer this would have worked even though one sprocket was just spockes

This loader is way too heavy for what is essentially a lightweight general purpose tractor .The front axle will wear out in no time with heavy use . l always found it strange that in America you had so many tractors with gas engines into the 90s and further.Europeans were almost all diesels from the middle 50s.
@John_Graff
@John_Graff 11 ай бұрын
IH sold it with that loader from the factory. I think a lot of gas tractors were sold here based on consumer demand. Virtually every tractor had a diesel power option but almost no one ever bought them. I think it is probably due to price of fuel. Diesel here is at least 25% more expensive than gasoline. Cold climates also preferred gasoline because they were much easier to start in the winter.

I have owned a 2444 for 35 years. I is an industrial 444 with a 2050 loader. IT has float on the loader. IT has 35 years of digging and pushing trees over. IT's brakes are week and it's front beam is not strong enough for the loader. HAD IT REWELDED.. Before I owned it the rear case was cracked and welded. It still drips oil. I see that you have rear remotes.

Start soaking the tracks in old motor oil, and work them loose. I would change the springs now if any are broken (way easier than when it is together. Just take the spring and associated bolt and nut to Cat dealer to put them together for like 90 bucks. Springs are way too dangerous to try to do without proper equipment.

The chains are really not stuck too bad. They turned when we had them on the other machine. As long as we can get them on the machine, they'll free up when we drive it. We don't want to soak in oil because we're worried that will give us a grinding paste once dirt gets in it that will wear the undercarriage faster. We do plan on parking it in the creek for a couple days once it's together to help make sure all the links free up all the way.
