You must be in Vermont, but the winters there are very cold, so then flip flops with any color cotton or merino wool socks would be necessary to keep feet warm. Cotton socks, however, makes your feet want to sweat more, so a merino wool sock would be necessary in this case. 30 dollars for a sock is expensive, but buying socks that are less than 10 dollars are very low quality, and holes form in the toes very easily. Polyester socks used in the summer are used to suck sweat into the sock, and thus, acting as a burette that holds all corrosive basic solutions. Hope this helps!
