Why would you do that? Shure, it probably works? But that thing is made to work in liquid. Why wouldnt you put a pot of water on the stove and see if it opens before it starts boiling? This is a answer to a problem nobody asked for..

@@boerde6202 this was mostly just an experiment also had a replacement part anyway time is money have other jobs waiting. Don’t have time to boil a pot of water and it still will function the exact same showing how the spring works and the heating element. I get what you’re saying. got other jobs waiting , gotta keep moving gotta find faster ways. The definition of experience is learning from your past mistakes. This was a bad thermostat. The thermostat wasn’t sealing all the way and was opening too quickly even though that test may have not been ideal is still accurate and gets it there quickly.

@@Ibuildsht it was very, very hard to get those bolts out tried every single extractor. I had just barely got them out. It’s gonna cut the heads off and weld on new heads with spare nuts. I have laying around supposedly they don’t sell these bolts.

Did you have to jack up the engine up a bit to get to that stud nut of the oil pan on the passenger side? Or maybe what type of socket swivel did you use?

Man, that’s a good question. I worked on this well over a year ago. I didn’t jack the engine up. I can tell you that much. I’m pretty sure I used the swivel ratchet. Wish I could be more help, but that was a long time ago. this was when I first started doing KZbin so my video quality wasn’t the best. Sorry about that. I have been getting better videos.

@@Csidisijss there’s no such thing as a good Jeep, but there are better Jeeps 😂😂😂. Straight six Jeep motors are really good. You wanna try to stick away from automatic transmission because they fail . and then they have certain engines that are better than others depending on the year you’re talking about those straight six motors are pretty good. I personally on a 5.2 V8 in my grand Cherokee. That’s a good motor. The pentastar engines are OK but they’re notorious for having some issues and oil cooler leaks and suspension needs a lot of work all the time cheap mexico china parts. also have lots of electrical issues. i love my 2 jeeps but fix them all the time but its easy for me. need to go on forums to see the better options .

Use needle noae pliers. Grab the tail at the lock twist till it pops. Quicker and probably tighter

I've got a 1978 gt80. It ran great. I took it apart to clean and touch up paint. It's never had spark again. Ground and all components are good, but no fire. I've resurrected quite a few dirtbikes and never had one that I couldn't figure out. Till this one. It's parked in the corner of my shop collecting dust.
