I've clicked on this video to learn where the heap allocation is coming from. I am disappointed! Criticism: You merely told us, that you observed something, sadly nothing more. This could be an awesome introduction. It could be along the lines of: "Hey, look at this C++ program and this C program! The C++ program is huge compared to the other! Why is that?" Then you could demonstrate where the allocations originate. Thereof follows a bunch of interesting perspectives on the matter. For example: Is it even worthwhile to care? In which scenario is it practical to care? Low memory environments? The history of C++ compiler! Has it always been like this in g++? Differences between implementations? Also maybe make an actual reference to C! The only reference is in the title, so I assumed we are going to get a more constructive comparison. Also, since I haven't seen any other videos of yours, I can't say for certain what your audience looks like, but a video title like this attracts mostly people interested in the low level shenanigans of C/C++ and the operating system, and not beginners. If you intended this for beginners, then I have a controversial take for you: Beginners shouldn't be pushed towards prematurely accounting for these details in their coding journey, because they will not yet be able to judge, when it is useful. Somebody who can judge its usefulness is not a beginner anymore.
