Great video FAIR WEAR. I admit that the ethics of my purchase were retrospect but I made enquiries via Amazon, and according to the brand provider Baby Originals Ltd who print personalised t- shirts; their feedback was that they use global manufacturers who are ethical and humane in practice to provide their t-shirts for printing on... I made this enquiry because I found my TRIBE t-shirt with a FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION label inside of it and checked it out on KZbin. Have tweeted your video and also uploaded it onto my blog to increase awareness. Hope this helps. I feel much better wearing my t-shirt now. In this day n age, we should be able to assume that all clothing manufacturers for the West is ethical/humane but that's not how it works is it soooooo. Thanks for yr conscientious advice. Inwira.x.

Happy to pay more for clothes (and own far fewer items of clothing) IF I can be certain that the extra money becomes the living wage of the workers and not extra profit for the retailer or the brand. How can that be ensured?

The brands need to be a part of audit to ensure that there is no undue time and price pressure.

This does not help the farmers or workers before the manufacturing stage, only FLO-Cert Fairtrade cotton does. Fairtrade audits the complete supply chain from seed to sewing and also makes a financial contibution through the Fairtrade Minimum Price and Fairtrade Premium. www.fairtrade.org.uk/en/farmers-and-workers/cotton

It's shocking that in the modern world ehtical awareness is still so low and big brands get away with treating the supply chain with such disregard. They won't do it on their own doorsteps because they wouldn't get away with it. I think if people had more access to ethical options they would start being more fussy about what they buy. I know I would.
