For getting the Allen key to turn I had a hard time until I used a little 5/16 closed end wrench on it for leverage, if anyone else is having trouble with that one that'll get it off without an impact

If you would've gone with Metra 72-6515, instead of 72-6514, you wouldn't have had that flipped wire issue. Just leaving this comment here, for anyone else doing a speaker swap on a Renegade. The 72-6515 harness correctly matches the pos/neg of the Renegade's factory harness.

Thanks for the info, but strange thing is that on Amazon they only sell the 72-6514. If you try to find 72-6515 it dose not even come up at all.

Speakers don't sound different when the polarity is switched as long as the speaker polarity is the same on all of the speakers, if you used the Metra's on all of the speakers then they would be fine.

Hey, i did this exact upgrade after watching this video. I didn't have to splice the wire adapter though. The Metra adapter fits onto the new speakers. It's a very snug fit that takes some patience to put on, but no splicing is necessary

Cool video !!! 2 questions. Is there a name for that red thing you are using to open the panel? And...did you have to add a subwoofer as well or thise 6x9 are good enough? Thanks
@da26554 жыл бұрын
The red thing is a trim removal tool, you can buy assorted packs of them from AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts for cheap. I did add a sub, but some may thing it’s not needed. I just wanted a little more, but nothing obnoxious. So, I bought a Rockford Fosgate P300 12” sub. It’s a small enclosure that doesn’t take up a ton of space and is self amplified in one entire unit.

Do you have a video on the speaker sound? I’m have a 2017 DesertHawk and recently the passenger side door speaker blew out. Looking to replace it.
@da26554 жыл бұрын
I don’t have any videos on how they sound, because without a quality mic setup, you’re not really going to get a good idea of how they sound. But, in my opinion, these sound amazing, and at far superior to the cheap Kicker aftermarket speakers that people tend to use in the Renegades.

@@eddiev8148 Unfortunately, I don’t. But I would have 2 suggestions. Try and do some digging on MoparPartsGiant.com and see if you can find anything. Make sure you put your rear brake connection back together. the one in the window. and check the wires, the wire with the stripe down it should be the negative wire.

Hello David, Thank you for the video! It was easy to follow your instructions. When you re-installed the rear plastic deck, did you leave the poppers (they call them rivets) inside the metal deck and slide the plastic deck over the rivets or did you attach them to the rear plastic deck and then pop them down into the metal deck? Also, do you know which speaker wire was the positive and which was the negative for the left and right rear speakers? Thanks again... Jeff
