"Mavissssss......" "Ohhhhhh, Derek......" It still makes me want to backflip every time I see the actors' real names (since one is a real Barlow and the other is a real Baldwin!).

This reminds me of when I was a bairn, I spent a lot of time with my mums aunties and half cousins, and the men worked in the mines. They each had 8 surviving children and were poor, but by gum, the ladies were tough. I remember one day in the play park, one of my aunties came up to it with the wet floor rag, her oldest son was 15 and had done something wrong, boy did she let him have it with the rag, she hit him so many times as he walked home with her. He never did it again. They had to be tough and control the bairns, and it worked. Every one of them adored her when they grew up, as did their grandchildren

In Hilda's last scene in the Rovers, so many of the old favourites have passed away now - Hilda, Vera, Jack, Percy, Phyllis, Mike and Deirdre. God bless and RIP gang.

Thora's wrong - Hilda and Stan's marriage wasn't the longest on the Street - they were married for 41 years - but Vera and Jack were married for 50!

I love the bit where Stan asks her if she's skint again and Hilda sarcastically says", No, but I'm down to me last five million. Well of course I'm skint you great chuff!" That's so funny!
