Hasselgren Engineering Inc was the Formula Atlantic Series gurus. Engine builders of the Year (consecutive years running... when Toyota ran the series.. R.I.P.) Paul Hasselgren started in Formula Ford engineering, where his talent and super knowledge and team of excellent minds and hands performed miracles for teams like Lynx and the like. Many of the best racers in the sport today can say they were successful for all the hard work and performance enhancements that came from this successful shop...They are still the best in my view and still are developing many new technologies in engineering secrets to give teams and racers "that edge".

Ae92 was a completely different car. Ae86 came in both hatch and coupe trims. The ae92 is the model that replaced the ae86, and was front wheel drive

the us had the 4ageC adjusted for california emissions. japanese,european, and other markets came with the 4ageU (universal) and the sr5 model came wth the 4ac, an engine similar to the 3ac in the ae85, but .1 liters bigger and slightly more powerful, this had two versions,california spec which had 70hp and 85ft/lbs of torque, and outside of california there were federal spec engines with 90hp and about the same amount of torque. the difference was mostly down to the smog pump design differences

they are nearly identical the us corolla gts uses nearly all the same parts mostly just comes down to the badges and the steering wheel being on the wrong side, the motor is the same except for california cars because their laws are whack so they get less power like 112hp or something I'm not sure I don't live there, but the sr5 had softer suspension, weaker rear end, no lsd, a sohc motor, and crappy interior but overall still the best car ever nomatter where you are lol.

Based on the highest comments about the throw being bigger on a long gearstick what happens if you put a quickshift on a massive gearstick? Would that cancel out the larger throw of a longer gearstick and make it like normal? (assuming you can get these kits for the AE86)

there are shifters that have a dual bend in them to keep them either stock or shorter throw, but you are right in this case its straight up and therefore it will cause the shift to be longer and awkward.
@ejtisevn
@ejtisevn 15 жыл бұрын
Ok, but what about a arm movement for changing gears?Its twise longer then stock shifter.
@JSpeclimited1
@JSpeclimited1 15 жыл бұрын
Its supposed to reduce the distance from shifter to steering wheel, the time that you remove your hand from the wheel to shift and back on to the steering wheel is vital for car control
