Just got my phaze AI last week and I absolutely love it! Went with a stronger layout and love using it game 2-3 after my track cypher starts to read a little early.. It’s definitely a clean ball but has plenty of core so it’s continuous, and it smells amazing lol.

I knocked the polish off and wet sanded mine with a 3000 pad, helped it a bunch for me for a perfect transition ball down from my Phaze II, much more controllable and way less over/under reaction.

Take the power edge off and use a different polish. Power edge sucks. Way too much over under with it.

Oh, man. It looks like you had open bowlers throw a bunch of games with house balls. I've had that happen to me. You get zero back end reaction and/or hook in the heads. When you threw 2 handed it looked like you hit oil 50 feet down the lane.

Thanks for the review! I realize this video came out in February. Are you using this ball regularly at this time or do you prefer to use a similar ball like the Phaze 2? I have the original Xponent and it really likes to skid past the optimal breakpoint when there is some carrydown on lanes at our AMF/Bowlero center. I have to really add a lot of side rotation to get the ball to go into the 1-3 pocket like you do. I'm tempted to have it resurfaced down to 3000 when I bowl at the AMF center. Would you have any advice on how to combat that situation?

Thanks for watching. No I do not use this ball anymore. I didn’t like how it rolled on patterns. I prefer to use the Phaze II. If the Xponent is skidding past the breakpoint I would use a stronger ball to help cut through the carry down. The cover on the Xponent makes the ball too slow at times so may be just a quicker response ball like a pearl may help.

currently only have a Vebo and spare ball. looking to add 1 ball up and 1 ball down. would Ion Max be a good first ball ? also what would you recommend for my ball down. am thinking of a IQ ruby or phaze AI

Yes the Ion Max would be a ball up. A ball down would be the Ruby. The Phaze AI may be similar front to back as the VEBO. Our symmetrical balls are a lot stronger with the AI added to the core. You can drill the Phaze AI weaker to make it a ball that would be longer than the VEBO. A better choice than the Ruby could be the iQ tour solid or an Ion Pro. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

@@Donfleebie1 best advice on new balls is pick the ones that are the most versatile and make the same shape for different styles. I know what you mean about all the releases. We have another one on the way. Just came out with the optimum idol pearl and have another strong symmetrical pearl releasing in three weeks with the Phaze AI.

To help with 10 pins when you play too straight the ball may be slowing down as it moves into the pocket. You can adjust the surfaces of the balls and that may solve the problem. When you move left you will need to ball up to help blend out the pattern. As I move left on house patterns I always use a stronger ball to help create shape. I think the Ascent is way better than the Tour Dynamx. Wasn’t a fan of the Tour Dynamx too early and slow for me.

@@robinbargo4417 a lot more than the Dynamix. I have no problems with the Ascent cutting through the oil on the house shot. The Dynamx never hooked down lane at all since it didn’t flare a lot. The Ion Pro is a closer comparison to the Dynamx than the Ascent.

I am actually surprised how nice you were able to get the Harsh Reality Pearl to work for you on the house shot. Based off the specs, I assumed it would be too much core and too much cover, but I guess I was wrong! It definitely shows though that getting the surface right for 1) you as an individual bowler and 2) the lane conditions you're on makes such a big difference, doesn't it? A few weeks ago I drilled an Attention Star and found it was a bit too clean and too flippy for me out of the box, but once I just cracked the polish a little with a 2000 pad to give it a little more traction while keeping most of the polish on, it absolutely came to life. It started shaping the way I wanted, reading the midlane while still really coming off the spot hard, and I've been striking a ton with it.

The Harsh Realty and Pearl are too strong for me on house. When I do videos for the stronger asymmetric pieces I try to film on the fresh house shot when the bowl opens. I don’t have a lot of balls with the polish still on then. With all the different conditions I bowl on polish doesn’t give me a predictable ball motion. Thanks for watching. I think it’s more the ball is confused at the end of the pattern because of the carry down created by the balls going down the lane. There’s not enough friction so the ball wiggles and when it final hooks it’s too late and doesn’t go through the pins correctly.

I think this is close to the Altered Reality. For me the Harsh Reality is quicker down lane than the Reality so the pearl will be quicker off the end of the pattern than the Altered Reality. Thanks for watching.

They are both about the same strength just depends if you want a smoother controllable ball motion in the Absolute Power or a quicker down lane motion of the DNA Coil compared to the Absolute Power. Thanks for watching.
