You may have turned it into a joke to cope, but so everyone knows, whipping a child with a belt like that is child abuse, and scars people for life. One of my recent clients believed they were worthless and evil for the next 40 years of their life because they were whipped like that as a child, and they assumed that they must have deserved to be treated like that, that they must have been horrible to deserve that kind of treatment, when the truth was that they didn't deserve it, and they were a good child. So let's stop normalizing and affirming child abuse that breaks the identity of a child, and stand up to defend the defenseless.

The Muslims were angry bc their mosque is holy to them. As a Christian, we can at least respect that and not call them “angry Muslims”! I can see many Christians, especially American ones, being angry if we believed Muslims were desecrating our holy places. Muslims are mostly amazing people. Very kind, loving, compassionate, good hearted, and do not deserve to be portrayed as angry. This story would’ve been equally as effective without that comment.
