The photos of inspection trains with the steam locos covered in coachwork are really interesting. A blend of a passenger car & old locomotive.

Well done documentary. Just came back from Durango narrow gauge train to Silverton this fall. So happy to see train history preserved. I did hear any info on Big Boy series engines unless I didn't understand terminology. Were those engines used on the same lines?

Thanks so much! I've been looking at this one my last few visits, and didn't have any idea why it had three axle trucks 😁 for some reason I never made it on board

Hey there, Hyce sent me here to find out more about this wonderful car. This history of the railroad, and the business car is absolutely fascinating. Thanks to your video, I've just today found out what a Pullman is and why it has that name. How incredible it is how international railroads are, when you actually look into them. I had no idea that Pullmans were originally American until I watched this video, so thank you very much for such a comprehensive and informative video.

Hyce also sent me. The car is glorious (can't believe all that mahogany!!) and certainly impressed me! Happy to see this beautiful car has a roof over its head; it's far too storied and pretty to let the weather have full play with it. Thanks for sharing :)

it's nice to know that 20 and 346 had history together. only thing better is if the 491 had history with the other two before it's museum days.

Amazing history! There's not many pieces of railroad equipment that can hold title of being in service for more than 50 years let alone the nearly 100 years this car was riding the rails.

not much of the Uintah survives today, from what I could gather. 1, upwards of 4 locos survive (one at the Southern Nevada Museum in Eureka & Palisade colors, 2 in Guatemala, and one unknown), but how many cars?

In the late 1960s it was possible to enter the west portal. A pair of waders could be found in the station. My brother would piggy back me through the water and into the tunnel. I went into the tunnel a few more times over the next ten years. One of my greatest adventures!

only place in Loveland that I can think of that 3011 was stored at was the old Sugar Beet Factory, which had been abandoned for about 14 years at that point. but the angle of that photo does not match up to the black and white aerial view from 1999 on Google Earth.

if the RGS survived another 5 years, they could have been wildly successful with their tourist stuff but it was too little, too late for the RGS
