In Sweden we remove the glove box in order to allow access to filter.

Another way to take the belt off is to pull two front bolts from the alternator and keep the third bolt just a tad bit loosen. Then grab the alternator and shifted it towards you as yours in front of your vehicle.😢

Nice job - good for another 50 years of service! I did the transom, floor and stringers on my V156 a couple years ago. A lot of work but the old Glastron boats are worth saving.

I would recommend any filter except Fram. They have really when down over the years. I personally use wix or Napa filters.

Thanks for the video! I have a 73 Glastron Beau Jack 159 that I need to do this on, as well as new floor stringers and decking. Although not the same model, I would imagine it's the same process. Easier to just junk it, but with sentimental value, it's not an option.

The life span of the H7 always on bulb is about 3 months. They are usually held in place by a troublesome wire clip. Yours is the best online picture of them I have seen yet. Based on experience if the clip somehow comes off, it is best to not let it drop into the fender or the headlight bulb opening. :) Nitrile gloves are the best way of handling the H7 bulbs.

0:22 "However, I do need to take both of them off..." Why would you need to remove BOTH idler pulleys, just to replace one? They operate completely independent of each other.

How did you guys get the wood out that was further down in the hull? Also, what joins the new transom to the hull? Just the fiberglass mat? I have a 1976 glastron v156 I need to do the transom on and I like how you kept the exterior shell of glass intact.
@kvgarage9595
@kvgarage9595 11 ай бұрын
The old transom was completely rotted out, which probably made it easier to remove than it would have been otherwise. So we just broke it up with a pry bar and then vacuumed out the rotted pulp with a shop vac. And yes, just the fiberglass mat joins the transom to the hull

The reason for the low oil on the dip stick is because you're using an oversized oil filter. The dipstick for the 2 motors is the same.

Because of the slot in the rear of that long lift arm you can bolt or pin the sleeve hitch in the up position to the tractor's original hitch plate & still lift & drop front or belly mounted attachments.

Hey my boy, I'm watching you take out that first spark plug in disbelief. For some reason you keep loosing it and then tightening it . That creaking sound your hearing is normal. All you have to do is loosen it. Somebody needs to take your tools away from you because you are dangerous with a ratchet. LoL

Super clear video? Lol based on what, this guy description of the release tab on the fuse box is not “super clear” he doesn’t say “the tab is on the upper left side behind the fuse box, press it hard” nah it’s kinda a shitty video he says “uhhhh ahhem” way too much. I think you’re wrong
