We put the scallops on ice for a few hours before we clean them. They open up when they get cold. It makes the cleaning process much easier. A small thin knife works on the stubborn ones that refuse to open. Hope that helps.

“Sargassum” Seaweed? What would it be called if collected off the Oregon coast? 🤣 Do you reside in Florida, the Caribbean, or are you a cruising sailor. I used to do similar studies on the kelp forests off the West Coast of the USA 🇺🇸 & Canada 🇨🇦. 😎

We are located in Florida. The sargassum we have here isn’t found in the pacific ocean but I believe there is a similar species thats over there.

weren't you scared to snorkelling? There are alligators, right? At least on your video was a small one but weren't you scared that some big beast could be somewhere there?
@OdomOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Any body of water in Florida can and probably does hold alligators. Most of the time they aren’t really a threat to people. That being said, there are places that I consider it relatively safe to swim and places that I would never swim. Rainbow river is definitely on the safe to swim list for me.
@joshh83953 ай бұрын
I grew up 20 minutes away from KP hole where they launched at. Alligators are everywhere in Florida but they don't mess with people except in rare instances. In 26 years living there the only animal that scared me were water moccasins. They are just as venomous as they are aggressive.
