No doubt a handy item although not a 'Must Have' for myself. They're probably nice at Universities were the set-ups are often complicated and their budget can support the investment.

Thanks for this concept. It’s often so hard to get those wrinkles out of the bottom head when you have deep snare beds. I often used a 1.6mm hoop, which bends with the curve of the bearing edge, but there are not so many 10 lug 1.6mm hoops. My real question is: Why not use a blow dryer? I used to do this with 3M window film every winter. Tape it up to keep out the drafts, then use a blow dryer to take out the wrinkles so you don’t see it so much.
